Show Notes

A full cup sitting on the counter was never the plan. This message moves from being filled to overflowing, from receiving to giving. Rooted in Romans 15:13 and Colossians 3, hope is shown to be no maybe or one-day wish. It is a living hope that abounds beyond every fixed measure, anchored in an empty tomb. Joy and peace come in believing. An apple tree doesn’t strive for apples; it abides. The old life is dead, and the new life is hidden with Christ in God. Behold His glory. You can’t give what you haven’t received. Freely received — now freely give.

[00:00:00] Welcome to the World Changers Church Gold Coast Podcast. Join us as we listen to today's message. [00:00:06] Thank you, man. Bless you, man. Can we, can we just take a moment to appreciate our young ministers in training who are stepping up and starting to fulfill the call of God on their life. I'd just like to honour Jake. Jake, you're a solid man, bro. And love your love for Jesus, love your love for the word of God and, and for his people, man. I see your heart for his people, man, and I just wanna honour that. And you just keep doing that, man. You got that beautiful pastor's heart. You love the people, you wanna see them set free. And just keep going, man. Keep going with God. Yeah. Hallelujah. Praise God Church. How we doing? Do me a favor, turn to one or two people next to you. Tell em hello, man. Tell em you love them. Tell em Jesus looks good on em. Come on, man. Take a moment just to say hi to someone. Maybe a face you don't know. Just a face you don't know. Maybe say hi. I think there's some new visitors here today. It's an honour to have you guys at World Changes. What a privilege it is to be in the house of the Lord this morning. Thank you guys for braving the rain. I know, so hard as Queenslanders and the Gold coast particularly, it rains and we're like, what do we do? We just don't have enough of it, so we just get confused. So what is this wet thing dripping on me? What is this thing falling from the sky? Hallelujah. I just want to thank our senior pastors, Pastor Kyle and Pastor Tina. I want to thank them, I want to honour them. I want to thank them for the opportunity to be up here and to share this pulpit this morning to go through this series called Overflow. We're filled and today we're talking about Overflow. I gave you a teaser there. This is an exciting time to be alive, guys. I mean, if you don't, do you feel that in your spirit? Do you feel that stirring from the Holy Spirit? And what we've been laying these last few weeks and months now is actually, you know, the Bible says in Ephesians that the pastors and the teachers and the five folder for the equipping of the saints, for the work of the ministry, right? So we've been laying this platform because we believe as a leadership team at this church that you are called to overflow. You are not called just to hold on to the things that God has given us through Christ Jesus, man. We have so many good things that God has given us in Christ Jesus. But the Bible wants us to go on to maturity and become people that don't just keep what we've been given, but give what we've been given. Yeah, make Matthew 10 says, Freely you have received, now freely give. That's the call of a equipped Christian, of a Christian who knows their identity, their place and their position in God. They know the fullness of what was paid for us on the cross through Jesus. So we're not trying to please God or earn God's favour. We know that we're accepted in the Beloved. We know that we're holy and without blame before Him. We know that the blood of Christ has cleansed us from all unrighteousness and that we've been presented now before the Father, holy and blameless. And so we're not looking for anything from God to satisfy that brokenness of our humanity. That's like God. Do you love me? No, man. We know that he loves us because the Bible says that we were out sin, Christ died for us and that God has proven his love for us in this way so that when we were sinners, Christ died, He put his life on the line for us. So we're not looking for, to prove anything to God. We're not looking to get some sort of touch or feel from the Lord to make us feel like we're right with him. We know that we're right with him through the blood of Jesus. Yeah, we know that. Right, we know that. We know that the payment was made, paid in full. There's nothing we can add to the Gospel and there's nothing we can take away from it. And we know that from last week we read in Ezekiel that God's heart was to dwell with his people, was to dwell in the Old Testament. He dwell among them, he visited them, he had tabernacles and he had temples that his presence, his glory fell in and dwelled in. And you had to go and meet with him there. But in the New Testament, under the new covenant, we see that God has now made us the temple of the Holy Spirit and His glory now fills us. And the Bible says in Colossians 3. Nine, that you are now complete in him, Complete in him. And that because of the finished works of Jesus, Ezekiel prophesied that he would take out the stony heart of flesh and he would put a new heart in of us. And he would actually, the Bible says, put his spirit on the inside of us. So we've got that scripture in Ezekiel 36. Let's look at this together because we're just recapping. Oh, that looks so good. There you go. And he says, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you. And I will take out the that heart of stone out of your flesh and I will give you a new heart of flesh and I will put my spirit within you. Someone say within me. And he will cause you to walk in his statutes and you will keep his judgments and do them. So God didn't just fill you with his spirit. He actually then through the Spirit, causes you to walk in his ways, to walk obedient to who he says you are. Now, like we try and think obedience is the way we think, obedience is actually us just agreeing with what God has already said. We become obedient to the things of God when we go actually God, you said that. I believe it. That's obedience. That's obedience. You know, we walk in the ways of God because we know who we are in God. We don't walk in the ways of God to prove that we're a son. We're a son now. And so now we walk in the ways of God. The proof of my sonship is how I display him, the evidence of him moving through my life. And that's what overflow is all about. It's all about now that we know we're sons, that we're redeemed, we're blood bought, sons and daughters of the Most High God. Now that we know that, let's start to walk in that. And let's let the world taste and see that the Lord is good. Yeah. Yeah. You with me? Amen. Praise God. I don't even know where I'm starting. Let's go. Hallelujah. Thank you, Jesus. So we're accepted. We're complete in him. Do you remember we looked at John chapter four last week? And we looked at the parakleisos, the paraklesos, which is the Holy Spirit. The name for the Holy Spirit. I think we've got John chapter 14 there, Leah. He says, I will pray. Jesus says, I will pray the Father and he will give you another helper, and that he may abide with you. Someone say, forever the spirit of truth whom the world cannot receive because it neither knows him, or neither sees him, or knows him. But like you know him. Someone say, I know the Holy Spirit. Come on, man. For he what dwells with you and will be in you. So Jesus fulfilled the promise of Ezekiel, the prophetic word of Ezekiel back in the Old Testament When Jesus, when God said that he would give us a new Spirit, put his spirit within you, Jesus fulfilled that when he ascended to the Father, he said, tarry in Jerusalem, for you will receive power on high, and after that which the Holy Spirit would come upon you, and you shall be my witnesses in Judea, Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and all the ends of the world. Amen. So the Holy Spirit has come now to reside in you. And we saw last week that he's our helper. He's our paraklesos. He's our helper. He is our comforter. He's our advocate. He points us to Jesus. He reminds us of who we are in Christ. He doesn't condemn us of our sin. He convicts us of our righteousness. He reminds us of who we've been made now he reminds us of who we've been created. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, that you are new creation in Christ Jesus, that old things have passed away and that all things have become new. Verse 18 says, and all things now are of God so good. And then it goes on to say, who has reconciled us to himself through the blood of Jesus and has given us a ministry now of reconciliation. So your and my job as Christians now is to be ambassadors of what we've received and bring that message that God is not mad at the world God was in Christ, not holding its trespasses against them, but reconciling them to himself through the blood of Jesus. So that's the message that we carry. Not a message of law or condemnations or get right or get left or turn or burn. We have a ministry, a ministry. We're ambassadors now for Christ, carrying this message of reconciliation that you who once were far off strangers have been brought close, brought nigh by the blood of Jesus. Hallelujah. So when we preach, when we share, when we overflow, we're not pointing out people's failures, mistakes, condemning them for what they're doing. We're showing them that there's something more to life, and that is Jesus Christ. And that everything they're trying to fill their life with and that brokenness that they have, Jesus will make that whole. Jesus can step into that place of your life and the thing that you're addicted to will fall away and you'll become addicted to Jesus and you'll fall in love with the one who loves you. Because the Bible says that we loved him because he first loved us. So how can we as Christians think that we can operate in love when we don't know love? We have to be loved so we can love. And so when we receive love, we freely give love. And so when we receive hope, we freely give hope. When we receive mercy, we freely give mercy. The extent of which you will give is the extent of which you've received. If you're not able to give mercy, then you haven't received mercy. If you're not able to give hope, then you really, truly haven't understood the hope that's in Christ Jesus. If you aren't able to love past yourself, if what someone says about you hurts you or makes you feel less in yourself, then you do not know the love of the Father. You don't know it because you can't give what you don't know, what you don't receive. Amen. Amen. All right, Holy Spirit, where are we going? Thank you, Jesus. Overflow. Overflow. You were made to overflow. We saw last week that Jesus cleansed the cup and the Holy Spirit filled the vessel. But God didn't intend for you to stay just as a full vessel on the kitchen counter. He wants you to be an overflowing vessel of his love and his mercy and his grace to this lost and this dying world. You weren't supposed to be a cup that sits on the counter and remains full. You're supposed to overflow. The Bible says that Jesus says, come to me, all of you who are thirsty, right? Heavy laden, I will give you rest. But there's another place that says, if any man thirsts, let him come to me. And out of his heart will flow rivers of living water. Why does he say rivers of living water? Because it's not dead, stagnant water that's breeding mosquitoes. It's living water that brings refreshing to those broken. It's living water that brings life to dead things. It's living water that restores broken things. You know, when Jesus returned from the wilderness in Luke chapter four, he said, the Spirit of the Lord is upon me and he has anointed me. I need you to hear this this morning. Because the same scripture is true of you as born again Christians filled with the Holy Spirit, who has a spirit dwelling on the inside. He says Luke 4:18. I don't give you this one, Leah. This is completely off the hip. He says Luke 4:18. He says, the Spirit of the Lord is. Is upon me. And he has anointed me to preach the gospel. The good news, to open the eyes of the blind, those who don't know who Christ is, who are living in darkness, to bring freedom to the Captive. So those that are trapped in their sin and don't know how to break free of their addictions, don't know how to get past the hurt and the guilt and the shame of their past. You've been sent to set them free. The spirit of the Lord is upon you to do that. To set free the captive set at liberty. Freedom. Them that are bruised, those that are beaten down by life, that don't know which way to turn next. You've been given a spirit and anointing to sit at liberty. Those people. Hallelujah. Did I miss one? And to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, that God is not mad at you. He's not judging your sin. It's been judged on the cross through Jesus and what he did, that all judgment was placed on the Son. Oh, some of you are living in judgment, man. You're judging yourself for your mistakes, what you've done in the past. You're judging others for where they're at in their walk, man, that says they're. All judgment has been placed on the Son. There's another scripture in Hebrews that says that there was a time of judgment, but now there's a time of mercy. That there was a time of judgment, but now there's a time of mercy. The acceptable year of the Lord. Hallelujah. Amen. Hallelujah. Thank you, Jesus. You guys getting blessed? You with me? Hallelujah. Jesus cleansed the cup. The Holy Spirit fills the cup. But God's plan isn't just filled vessels. It's overflowing vessels. Let's look at this together in Romans, chapter 15, verse 13. Let's look at this now. May the God of hope fill you, man. Aren't you glad that we serve a God of hope who needs some hope in this place this morning? You serve a God of hope wherever you're at. You know, we were in worship this morning and we were singing that song about the how. Hallelujah. The lion of Judah is overcome. And, you know, a lot of the times we let the battle sing to us, man. We gotta worship through the battle, man. We gotta sing to the battle, man. Do you know that in the Old Testament, the king Jehoshaphat, he sent out the worshipers to confront the enemy. He sent out the worshipers, Jake. He didn't send out the army. He didn't send out the soldiers. He sent out the worshipers. And the Bible says that they fled at the sound of the praise that they were making to the most High God. Can you imagine that? Like, just think about that, right? Just them, Just Father God. Hallelujah. Glory to you, Jesus. You are the king of kings. You just imagine them praising them and all the enemy's like, oh, man, they got God on their side, man, we're cooked. Let's get out of here. Some of y' all are letting that battle sing to you. You gotta sing to that battle, man. Tell them about your God, man. Tell them that you serve the God who's the maker of Creator of heaven, man. Yeah, tell them about your God. That's why we sing. Hallelujah. The lion of Judah is overcome. Man, you have already overcome. You might be going through it, but you're going to overcome it. You're an overcomer. Thanks be to God, who has caused me to triumph in Christ Jesus. Not in Jeremy. In Christ Jesus. Hallelujah. You worship through your battle. Yeah, sing. Sing through your battle. I don't care if you're like me and you sound like a cop cat. Sing through your battle, man. Michelle got all the singing goodness in our marriage. She got that. Someone's having joy. Hallelujah. We got that verse still right now. May the. I wouldn't even get past the first verse now. May the God of hope. Thank you. So good. Fill you. There's that word. Fill you with all joy and peace in believing. That's the key right there. You want to believe everything else. You want to believe that TikTok and Sally in them. You want to believe the nine o' clock news. You want to believe the report of giants in the land. You gotta stop believing the word of God. You gotta stop believing the word of God. You gotta. These are not just words on a page. They are the spoken rhema of the creator of all of heaven and earth, the one who shed his blood for you on the cross. They're not just black ink spread on white paper. It is God's spoken rhema word that has the power to move mountains, shift spiritual battles, open up the eyes of the blind like we've been talking about. Set free the captive. Those words are more, so much more. But we want to believe the words, all the other words, more than we want to believe this word. May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace. Oh, man. In believing, the reason you're not experiencing joy or peace, because you ain't believing. Believing is what will bring the joy and the peace. Now we want to believe because everything in my life looks good, is working exactly like I thought it would go. That's not believing. That's not trusting. That's not faith. Believing is me reading the words on this page and deciding that's true because God said it. And when I believe it's true because God said it. Now all joy and all peace fills me. Because Father, I don't care what's going on in my life right now. Lord God, you said that I'm an overcomer in Jesus and I'm going to rest in your provision. I'm going to rest in your goodness towards me. I know that surely goodness and mercy, Lord, will follow me all the days of my life. And I'm going to dwell in your house forever, Lord. And David said that, man. This one thing I desire, Lord, that I might gaze upon your beauty and dwell in your temple, Lord God. That I might rest in the shadow of the Almighty and under his wings I'll take refuge Lord God. And I start speaking out the word of God, man. And joy and peace fills me because I believe. And that is why the Holy Spirit dwells in you. Because Jeremy don't believe those things. Jeremy doesn't know up from down and left from right. But the Holy Spirit in me, he's reminding me that the God of hope fills me and that all joy and peace abounds to me. When I start to shift my focus onto the one who spoke the words of promise man, Hallelujah. I'm preaching myself happy. Let's go, bubby. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Lord. Abound so that you may abound in hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. Isn't that cool that God just doesn't give us just enough hope? Just a little bit. He makes it abound in our life. Hallelujah. And that word abound in the Greek. Karma's not here. She usually says the Greek words for me. Parisio, Parisio with a little dash over the O. So whatever that means, abound, Parisio. It means to exceed a fixed number or measure. To be over and above. To exist in abundance, To exceed. Do you know that the hope that you think you get from God, that fixed number or measure of hope that you think you have that God exceeds that? And do you know that the hope that you're looking for is not a wish upon a star? Hope that it exists in abundance. This hope that we've been filled with is not a maybe or a might or a one day hope. This hope exists right now in abundance. And it exists for this reason Jesus Christ is risen. He didn't stay dead. He's not in the tomb. The tomb is empty. And the Bible says that we have Been saved to a living hope. A risen Savior, alive and ruling and reigning king. A living hope. Our hope is, is not in an outcome, a maybe or something that may occur at a later time. Our hope is in a predetermined, pre established, already finished thing. The risen, resurrected Jesus Christ. We don't look forward to outcomes for hope. We look back at the finished work and the outcome already established and done. For our hope. The world says, has it happened yet? God said, it's already finished. Hallelujah. Our hope is established in the fact that we know the tomb is empty. A living hope. And when you actually begin to understand that, because remember I said that he fills with all joy and peace in believing. Believing what? Believing the word of God. But Specifically Romans chapter 10 says that we believe the message about Christ. When Paul walked, he was so eloquent in what he spoke about and so full of the Spirit and moved in these amazing things and wrote these amazing. But he said to the Corinthian church, he said, I preach nothing but Christ and Christ crucified. Christ and Christ crucified. Why? Because a TED talk and a three day conference is great. But only Christ is going to set you free. Only Jesus is going to heal that broken part of you. Only Jesus is going to fill you so filled that you're over flowing, abounding, exceeding the fixed measure of your limitations. Only Jesus is going to blow the lid off that thing, man. Only Jesus is going to make you fulfill the good works that he's prepared before you. That you should walk in them. Yeah. I'm not trying to manufacture hope. This isn't something I'm trying to conjure up. I'm not. A little bit of hope, a little bit of freedom, a little bit of joy, a little bit of peace, a little bit. Come on man, bake this thing. I did it right. He's risen already. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. I'm sorry, man. Yeah. I'm not trying to prove that I've been filled. I'm allowing the life of the one who fills me to become visible. To become visible. And then when that happens, people around us now, they get to get a glimpse of the one who fills us. His love, his joy, his peace, his mercy, his grace. Yeah. His hope. So God fills and we overflow. You know, the evidence of a spirit filled life is not. I'm spirit filled. It's not. It's not. We don't. An apple tree doesn't strive to produce apples. An apple tree just produces apples. A spirit filled belief. The apple tree doesn't go around saying, I'm an apple tree. Look at my apples. Do you believe me? I'm an apple tree. See it? You thought I was an orange tree, but I'm actually an apple tree. Look at these. No. A spirit filled believer doesn't have to walk around going, look at me, I'm spirit filled. I'm holier than this. And blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Religious spirit filled believer doesn't do that. Spirit filled believer just knows that the spirit of God dwells in them. They know that they're producing effortless fruit through the power of the Holy Spirit that resides in us. They know that when they walk close to God the vine and they abide in him that they bear much fruit. So my life, I don't need to. I shouldn't need to tell people that I'm a spirit filled believer. They should just know. They should just know. They should see me, they should see you, and they should just be like, that man is filled with joy and peace. What does he believe? And then you get to tell him about your Jesus. That man, he just, he walks with so much integrity. Like, I've never seen him cuss on a job site. I've never seen him throw something in a fit of rage. I've never seen him. I love the way he speaks to his kids. I love the way he speaks to his wife. Man like, you just don't see that. What is that? It's Jesus. Let me tell you about Jesus. I'm just walking with Jesus, abiding in Jesus and he's bearing fruit in my life. I'm not trying to force fruit to grow. I'm letting the vine fill me with his life that produces the fruit for others to taste and see that the Lord is good. Yeah. His spirit, his holy Spirit fills the vessel so his nature becomes visible. Look at this. In Colossians chapter three, start in verse one. We got that one there. I'm trying to get back on track. Let's get back on track. Colossians chapter three says, if you were raised with Christ. I just can't even get past the first line this morning. Man. I love the word of God so much. If you were. If then you were raised. I love the tense in the book of Colossians. The whole book of Colossians. Just pay attention to the tense of how Paul writes this beautiful book. He writes it with nidelika. If you are raised with Christ, like it's gonna someday happen. He says, you were, you were. If then you were raised with Christ as if he's challenging our paradigm, right? Like if he's. He's challenged the way we view our walk with the Lord. In Colossians, a lot of what was going on is they had mixed religion, so they believed in Christ and that he was the risen God. But they also added these like pagan beliefs to their things. So they had this kind of like watered down Christianity. And so Paul, he's challenging them, he's challenging their way of thinking. He's saying, if, then you were raised. If this is true, which it is, if you were raised with Christ, he says, then seek those things which are above where Christ is. As if to say, if you really believe this and it is true, I'm telling you it's true, then this is what should happen. There's a cause and effect. If you truly believe that Christ is raised and I was raised with him, then everything in this world begins to taste so bitter and so sour. And I don't want to add anything else to it. I just want to seek those things which are above where Christ is seated, at the right hand of God the Father. That's what fruit looks like. That's what a spirit filled life looks like. It doesn't look like me trying to force my life to look like Jesus. It looks like a life that says, I believe I was raised with Christ. So all those things that mean nothing to me now, I'm going to put them aside. I'm going to seek those things above where Christ is. Look at the next verse. For you died. Are you ready? Verse 3. For you died and your life is hidden in Christ. Galatians 2:20 says that I am crucified with Christ. Let I live. Not I, but Christ lives in me. And the life I now live, I live by the faith of the Son of God who loved me and died for me. I died at the cross of Calvary. My old man was nailed to that thing. Your old man was nailed to that thing. You died. You're dead. Some of us are walking around like it's the next season of Walking Dead. Living in the old man. We set our mind on the things about where Christ is. Where Christ is. For you died and your life is hidden with Christ in God. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. I'm here right now, but the real me, so hold on. The old me, he dead. And if we go back a verse, it says that I've been raised with Christ. And then it says, my life now, even though I'm here and you see me, my real life, that Resurrected life, that one is hidden with Christ in God. But let's take that one step further because you're going to read it in the next one. When Christ, who is our life, the life I now live, I live by the faith of the Son of God who loved me and gave him Christ is my life. When he appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. Okay? Yep. Praise God for the word of God. Praise God for the word of God. We. And it is. This is a. This is the second coming. This is a prophecy and all that. Right. But also when Christ who dwells in you, Christ who is my life, when he dwells in me, when he appears, you also appear with him in glory. So I can reveal the glory of God by revealing Christ in me. That's why it says, let them see your good works so they may glorify your Father in heaven. When you surrender your life, when you realize that you were dead, your old man died, that old way of thinking died, and you were risen with Christ and you have a new life. And when you allow that new life to flow through you, the glory of God is seen. So the love that you express, the mercy that you give, the kindness, the patience that you walk in, it doesn't make Jeremy look good. It's revealing the glory of God. It's revealing the nature of our Father. It's revealing the one who we believe in that rests in us, that dwells in us. It reveals the kindness and the love of God towards us that is in Christ Jesus. So you've been filled to the overflow so that the glory of God could be revealed in a broken and dying and lost and hurting and separated from God world. Your light, the glory of God in you. The light that's in you is the glory of God. And that light is the light that transforms a broken heart, a dead heart, a separated heart from their father, an orphaned heart, A heart that's so full of anxiety and worry, a heart that's so full of mistrust and so full of anger and resentment and grief. A heart that's so full of. I just don't know where to go next. The life that is in you, that is in Christ Jesus has been given so that it can overflow to that person and that person can be made whole. That person can be restored. That person can find hope in a hopeless situation. That person can find peace in an otherwise chaotic world. I think that that is an absolute privilege. I think that that is absolutely beyond like that. To me, I know God's real because I wouldn't choose me to use that plan. That's not my plan. But God decided that he would fill us with his glory, with his power, with his anointing, so that we could fulfil the good works that he has for us. To walk in. Not to perform for God or to earn God's provision or favour or somehow get blessings from God. No, so that we could reveal Him. We could reveal him, man. That's good, man. Like, yeah, praise God, man. Like, I'm. I get it. I'm. I don't think I'm a great example. Sometimes I feel like I'm guilty of chucking on the old man. You know, I get upset. I don't pay attention. I have this thing right now, man, where I'm just like, Shelly will be talking to me and I gotta stop this, guys. You need to hold me accountable for this. But I have my phone and she'll be talking to me. I'll be like, huh, huh, huh? And then I'll. What? I have no idea what she said. I'm sorry, man. Like, that is. It's so. Honestly, I didn't. Go away, man. Like, it's so stupid. I hate it. I hate it. But. No, but that's not the problem, man. This is the. I gotta. I gotta get. There's someone in here that for some reason needs something from that. And I don't need it from that. I need it from this. I gotta get it here. Because when I get it here, guess what? I overflow to here. But if I'm getting it there, then I'm a dead man and I'm of no use. I'm just there. Zombie mode. But if I'm getting it from here and I'm getting filled up in here and joy and peace is filling my heart, man, then I'm just. This is abounding. It's overflowing. It's seating. The measure is taken off. You get what I'm saying? So what is the thing in your life that you should be putting down? Because your old man is dead and you've been raised to life in Christ and your life is hidden with God and you want that glory to repeal. What is that thing, that old thing that you need to just put down so that you can get. Right here, Right here, Father. Thank you. That you call me son. And. Yeah, I get it, Lord. I've got shortcomings and I've got faults and I've got things that I need to work on, Lord God. But they don't change who you say I am. They don't change the truth of the value you placed on me because you shed your blood, the blood of your only son. And, Lord, I don't want to find satisfaction in anything else except for your. I want to highlight David. God, create in me a new, a clean heart. God, restore me to the joy of my salvation. God. Lord, I want to overflow. I want people to see your glory. I want people to encounter the God that I love, the God that I know. I want them to be free. God. Amen. Amen. All of that to say I am way behind time. All of that to say the Spirit fills us. And because of that filling, there's a transformation that takes place in here. My desires change, my want to's change, my habits change. Not because I'm working harder to show apples on my tree, but because I'm abiding in the one who gave his life for me. The Spirit will produce an inward change. You know, I love Romans chapter seven and Romans chapter eight, which I know is Jim's favorite. Romans, chapter seven. You see this wrestle that Paul goes through? He says the things that I want to do, I just don't do them. And the things that I don't want to do, I just keep doing them. He says, who will save me from this wretched body of sin? And then the next verse is probably one of my favorite verses in the whole Bible. It says, thanks be to God who has delivered me in Christ Jesus. And then Romans, chapter 8, verse 1. Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those that are in Christ Jesus who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. That's the choice every day that we make. Walk after the flesh, fulfill the lust of the flesh, the gratifications of the flesh, or walk after the Spirit, where there is life, joy, peace and hope abounding, overflowing in your life. Because this world doesn't need the flesh side of Jeremy. This world needs the spirit side of Christ that lives in me. Yeah, that's a good word, Church. That's a good word. Christ, who is my life. Say that with me, Church. Christ, who is my life. There's nothing else, man. There's nothing else. And when you. When you truly believe this, believe this, then you can walk. And in everything that Luke chapter four says, you can walk in freedom, [00:42:31] you [00:42:31] can be free, you can be full of joy, because all of those things already dwell in you. That's what Colossians chapter three says. It says that the fullness of the Godhead was in Christ Jesus. And you are Complete in Him. You're not trying to fill up with more joy. Romans, chapter 15, verse 13. We read it say, may the God of hope fill you. Fill you with all joy, With all hope, with all peace. All of that fills you. And so the life that we live is a life that reflects. Second Corinthians 5:20 says that. And we behold his glory. And as we behold his glory, we're transformed from glory to glory. How do we behold his glory? Like this, getting in his presence, praying, speaking. And like this, getting in the word of God and seeing the truth of who he says you are, who he says he is. Because we gotta behold his glory. And as we behold his glory, we're transformed from glory to glory. So if you're like, man, I just. I just can't get. I can't walk in hope. I just seem to be so hopeless. Behold his glory. Feel like, oh, I'm just struggling to find peace in this situation. Behold his glory. If you're like, how do I even get up and face today? Behold his glory. If you're like, man, I just can't shake this addiction. I just seem to keep going back to the same vice. Beholder's glory. And what is his glory? And we have seen the only beloved Son who was in the Father's bosom. We have beheld his glory, full of grace and truth. John, chapter one, verse 14. Jesus Christ, he's the glory of God. And if we want to know how to walk out this life and be the example that we want to be, we want to meet the people that we want to meet and heal them and see them set free the same way we've been set free. It starts with one thing, beholding the glory of Jesus. Because you can't give what you don't have. Freely you have received. Now freely give, you got to receive it first. If there's anyone in this room this morning that just has never really received the fullness of his glory and just would like this morning to come up and get prayed with, we're just going to pray that you would just see more of his glory, that you would receive more of his goodness, that you would understand more of his mercy. If that's you and you just want to come and pray, I invite you up now. I'm going to give about three seconds, and then I'm going to move on to the next thing. So if you want to come up and get prayed for, you're welcome to come up now. Three, two. Father, we just thank you for this word this morning. Lord God, thank you that we were able just basically to abandon all of our notes and plans this morning and just you would meet us right where we're at. That you would speak a word to our hearts, Lord God, that would set us on that direction that you have for us, Lord God. And I pray this morning that no one would fall back into works, but they would fall back into the wonder of your love, Lord God. That they would know that you've done it all, Lord God, to bring them into relationship with you. But it doesn't just stop there, Lord God. You filled them to the oath overflowing, Lord God, so that they can overflow into their workplaces, their marriages, their homes, their friendship circles, Lord God, they carry hope, they carry peace, they carry mercy, Lord God. And Father, if there would be any area in their life where they're not sure, Lord God, would you fill that place up, Lord God. Because we can only give what we receive, Lord God. And we open our hands wide this morning, Lord, to receive the fullness of what you paid the price to give us, Lord God, the fullness of your joy, the fullness of your hope, the fullness of your peace and your mercy. The fullness of youf love, you, Grace, Lord. We receive the fullness of it, Lord God, Help us, Holy Spirit. That's why youy're the Helper. Help us, Holy Spirit, to discover more of who Christ is and who Christ is in us, Lord God, so that we can walk free from the shackles of this world and let our light shine among men, Lord God, so they may taste and see that yout are good. In Jesus name and the church said Amen. Hallelujah Church. Bless you guys. Thank you Lord. Give Jesus praise. Thank you Jesus. [00:47:56] Thank you for tuning in to today's message.
