[00:00:00] Welcome to the World Changers Church Gold Coast Podcast. Join us as we listen to today's message.
[00:00:07] Amen. Hallelujah. Thank you, guys. You can sit down. Let's give Jesus praise. Hey, thank you, Jesus.
[00:00:13] Wow, that really blessed me to see all those ministers in training. Man, you guys are doing phenomenal work. That's so cool to see how many people God is raising up to lead the body of Christ. Hey, and I love that you said it's for the equipping of the saints for or the work of the mission for the building up of the body of Christ. You know, I feel like sometimes we think, oh, that's building us up. But it's also adding numbers to this church as well. The mission work is all about building God's family, right? It's about increasing heaven. It's about bringing more people into the kingdom. It's about filling up God's heavenly mansions with more and more people. We always say when we go out on the streets that it's a good thing Jesus was a carpenter. Cause he's busy building up there, man, with all the people that we're leading to the Lord. We're leading busloads of people to the Lord. Now, really quickly, we were out on the streets on Tuesday, and I haven't been back out there for about 11 weeks because some of you may know I tore my Achilles about 11 weeks ago. And I'm up here now and I'm back and God is doing an amazing work. And I'm going to share a little bit more about that. But it was my first night out on Tuesday.
[00:01:15] And, you know, within the first five minutes of getting out there, God is so good. It's like he made up all that 11 weeks in one moment.
[00:01:24] We were standing there, Tracy, Tony and myself and the guys and this entire. I kid you not, this entire rugby team walks up to Tony and us. And, you know, some of you guys have heard about the 32nd gospel. So we went in and we preached to them this unadulterated message of the gospel. Just that Jesus is the son of God, that we're separated from him because of sin, that he died on the cross for that sin. And he gives us a new heart and he gives us eternal life. Just a really unfiltered gospel. Because how many of you know it's the power of God unto salv, Right? It's the gospel, not our opinions or our views. It's the gospel that leads people to salvation. And when I say that all 15 of these men, these young boys, decided to give their lives to Jesus. I am not exaggerating. All 15 of these men, that is glory to God. That is what God is doing weekly and he's adding numbers. And then, you know, God isn't just the God of.
[00:02:26] That's enough. He's the God of much more. Huh? He's the God of much more. And so we find that two of these young boys were missing from the cruise. So all these 15 men come over to these two men. You gotta come over, you gotta come over. You gotta give your life to Jesus. You gotta pray the prayer. And so we had two more added. And then we found out that their coach was actually a chaplain and he'd been sewing into these boys and he came up to us afterwards and he was just so grateful for what God had done. How about that? Hey, so let's give Jesus glory for that man.
[00:02:58] Amen. Amen. Hallelujah.
[00:03:01] So, yeah, so about 11 weeks ago, I tore my Achilles. That was my first night out. And God just, man, like, I know he does it, but he did that for me. Yeah, he did that for me. 11 weeks out and then on the first night back, 15, 17 young men led to the Lord in one moment. Man, that is God, that is the Holy Spirit. Amen. So I want to honour Pastor Tina and Pastor Kyle. Thank you guys for giving me the opportunity to come up here this morning and preach.
[00:03:28] We are past of an absolutely beautiful church guys. And for those of you who are here for the first time, we have this saying here at World changes whether you stay or go your family for life. And that's what we are. We're a family in the body. Everyone from different walks, different backgrounds, different experiences, but under one thing, the blood of Jesus. Amen. And so we welcome you guys here this morning. So let's pray. Heavenly Father, we just come before you this morning with humility and our hearts, Lord going knowing that you have done it all, that you have brought us here not by coincidence or by mistake, Lord God, we are here by divine appointment to receive a rhema word from you this morning, Lord God. Lord, I pray that you would speak through me this morning.
[00:04:10] God, they don't want to hear from me, they want to hear from you. Use me, Lord God, to be your vessel to deliver that word and season to them this morning, Lord God, I pray for open hearts, eyes to see and ears to hear all that you are doing today, Lord God, in Jesus name, Amen. Hallelujah. Amen. Let's give Jesus a little bit of praise. Thank you Lord.
[00:04:32] So I realized as I was preparing for this message, there's a lot of people in this church that actually don't know my testimony. We have grown so much. There's probably people here that actually have never really heard my story before. And I'm going to share a little bit this morning. So I didn't grow up in the church. I didn't grow up in a Christian home. My parents are beautiful people, but I was not under a Christian influence or a godly influence. So that meant that I lived 30 years in the world before I was saved. Just doing life, man. Just doing the world thing. And that meant that I got caught up in addictions. That meant I got caught up in drinking, just party lifestyles.
[00:05:08] It meant that I got caught up chasing girls. It meant that I got caught up chasing money. All of those things that the world tell you are the, you know, the pursuit of happiness in the world, right? All those things that the world lies to you about being actually good things. And so I was caught up in all of that. That was my life for 30 years, growing up outside of the church. And then when I turned 30, the Lord encountered me in that moment. And I was in the middle of a divorce at the time. So I was going through a failed marriage at the time. And a lot of that failure was on me. I take accountability for my role in that. And there's no guilt, there's no shame, there's condemnation, no condemnation in Christ. I can stand before you and say, I'm a transformed man because of the grace of God. But I have to be accountable and I have to be responsible for the things that I did wrong, right? Otherwise, I never grow. I never change. My character never gets transformed. So I have to lay that at Jesus and let him work on me. But I was in the middle of a failed marriage. I was in the middle of a mess, and a lot of it was because of me.
[00:06:04] So when I first encountered the Lord man, I was overwhelmed by how much he loved me. Just overwhelmed. I remember the day that I gave my life to Jesus. It was May 27, 2017. I was in my bedroom and I was going through this divorce. I was going through a messy situation with my family, and I had no other options. And about a week earlier, a guy from my work had noticed that I was not the same person. That joy was gone, and I was just carrying myself a little bit heavier. So he asked me out for a coffee, and he took me to a little coffee shop. And turns out that this man was a Christian. I didn't know that. But he started telling me about the love of Jesus and what Jesus had done in his life. And I thanked him and I said, yeah, man, that's not for me. Like, I'm good. But a week later, I'm in this place where just.
[00:06:55] It snowballed and things were not getting any better for me. And I'm lying in my room and I'm thinking, like, I got no other option. So I said, God, if you're real. If you're real, God, I need help. And the presence and the spirit of God came into the room, and it overwhelmed me so much. And I heard the one and only time I've ever heard the audible voice of God. And he said to me, you are my son and I've saved you. I'd never heard about sonship. I'd never heard about salvation, never heard about that. God spoke and said, you are my son and I've saved you. And I was just overwhelmed by his love. It was like the heavy, warm blanket laid across me, and I was free to go. But everything in my body was just like, why would you want to leave? Like, it was just the love of God just overwhelming me, man. And it was so good. So let's give Jesus praise for that and that love.
[00:07:45] That love changed me. It absolutely changed me. And that's what God's love will do. It will change you.
[00:07:51] And here's the thing. I knew that I was a sinner. I knew that I was in the middle of a divorce because of my decisions. And I knew what I had done.
[00:08:02] But here's the thing that I learned.
[00:08:05] I knew that what Jesus had done was greater.
[00:08:09] What Jesus had done was greater. I had done all these things, and I had messed up, and I had made decisions that had consequences attached to them. But everything that I'd done was still subject to what Jesus had done, that what he had done was greater. Amen.
[00:08:24] Everything in my life changed, but it didn't mean that it was all roses. I had a clean slate. Like, I had a new beginning. I knew that. I understood that.
[00:08:33] I received that. But it didn't mean that everything in my life was all roses. I quickly learned that there is an enemy and that he is real. But the battle is not physical.
[00:08:44] Battle is not physical. It's right here. It's right here. It's between these ears. Right here. It's right here.
[00:08:49] The devil is always. And I want you to get this this morning. The devil is always trying to get you to quit trusting in Jesus.
[00:08:56] That's his Number one tactic. He is trying to get you to quit trusting in Jesus. He's trying to steal your faith and he's trying to make you think that God doesn't listen, care, or that you're not enough. That's what he tries to do.
[00:09:08] Do you understand that?
[00:09:11] That's all he tries to do. He tries to steal your faith. He gets you to look at anything other than Jesus. He gets. Trying to look at what? Of your strength, your money, your ability, what's going on in your life. Hallelujah.
[00:09:23] That's his plan. And he wants you to doubt God's love for you.
[00:09:29] That's his plan.
[00:09:32] We look everywhere. We look everywhere for answers except for the truth.
[00:09:37] And the truth is what Jesus has done for us on the cross. There's no self help book, there's no seminar, there's no conference you can go to that can replace sitting at the feet of Jesus and understanding what Jesus has done for you. We look everywhere except for the revelation of his finished work.
[00:09:57] We do. We look for it in everything else. And I know that God can be in those things. But there's something so powerful about just surrendering it all to the feet of Jesus and saying, lord, I believe.
[00:10:08] I believe your word. I believe what you say is true God.
[00:10:13] So I was caught up in this like love affair with Jesus, right? Like, just overwhelmed by how good he was. And then they call it like the Christian honeymoon or whatever. It's like things smell better and colors look brighter and you're like hearing worship songs for the first time in your life, man. And like I'd grown up listening to like heavy metal and stuff. And then I'm listening to Jesus have it all. It's like, man, what a transformation, right? If that's not the grace of God and transformation, I don't know what is, man. That's a testimony right there.
[00:10:47] I love you, Lord.
[00:10:51] So after this sort of like honeymoon sort of phase, I guess, and I believe that I'm still on honeymoon with Jesus, man. Like I'm still on my honeymoon, man, with Jesus. You know, that hasn't ended. So let's, let's not feel like that ever ends. Like we're always on a honeymoon. But it's like the.
[00:11:11] What's that person at the hotel, the bellboy? It's like he keeps interrupting my honeymoon. Like, bro, that's what the devil keeps saying. He's interrupting my honey. Get out of here, man. So these intrusive thoughts sort of started coming at me, right?
[00:11:26] So these are the things that I Faced, how can you achieve, think that Jesus would want anything to do with you?
[00:11:32] Or maybe you're forgiven, but you'll never be qualified to be a pastor. The church will never accept you. You've sinned way too much. These are all the intrusive thoughts that started coming at me, right? Because I told you the battle is between the ears.
[00:11:45] And the answer to all of that, the answer to all of that is that I have to believe in the finished works of Jesus.
[00:11:55] There's nothing else. I can go and search all the scriptures and I can read all these scriptures and I can apply them, but the they're just words in a book. If I don't actually understand the finished works of Jesus and what he did for me, because these are actually telling me about what he did for me, okay? So that's why I read this book. I don't read this book to get head knowledge or try and understand something or get theology. I read this book to encounter the love of God. I read this book to find out more about my Saviour and the price that he paid for me on that cross. That's why I read this. I read this because from the front cover to the back cover, the whole thing is telling me the love story of God for me and what he did for me on that cross and what he will do for you. Amen. That's why I read this book for no other reason. I'm not trying to get smarter so I can convince you something. I'm trying to find out more about the love of the Father and the price that he paid for me. Because the only way that I can be who he called me to be is when I look at this like a mirror and it reveals to me who he says I am, who he's called me to be. If I look at the sin in my life, I look at the mistakes that I've made, if I listen to the intrusive thoughts, I'll never know who I am. Only by getting in this book and letting the Holy Spirit breathe on this and reveal me who God says I am, will I actually ever be changed.
[00:13:08] Amen. That's what this book is for. Hallelujah.
[00:13:12] Thank you, Jesus.
[00:13:16] So one of the most important truths I ever had to learn, and honestly, I pray you get this this morning, is that.
[00:13:23] Hear this. I add nothing to the gospel.
[00:13:28] I add nothing to the gospel.
[00:13:31] It's 100% about what he did for me. I add nothing to it.
[00:13:37] Nothing. And if I add nothing to it and it's all about Him. Guess what? I can take nothing away from that Gospel.
[00:13:43] Amen. Someone needs to receive that this morning. You add nothing to it.
[00:13:48] It's all about his love for you. And you can't take anything out of it.
[00:13:53] It's done. It's finished. That's why it's a finished work.
[00:13:57] Amen.
[00:13:58] Jesus has done it all. And even on my worst day, his love for me never changes.
[00:14:04] Yeah, hear that this morning. Even on your worst day, Church.
[00:14:09] The day that you don't even acknowledge him, don't even think about it. The day that you cuss out that person at work, the day that you get mad at your kids, the day that you lie, the day that you. Whatever it is, even on that day, his love for you hasn't changed.
[00:14:25] His love was displayed 2,000 years ago on that cross.
[00:14:31] And nothing you do today can take away what was done then.
[00:14:36] Amen.
[00:14:38] Jesus didn't just do enough to save me or save you. And somehow I have to do something to earn it or keep it.
[00:14:45] His finished work was not a partial work. And hear this. The minute.
[00:14:50] The minute you make it about anything else other than what Christ has done, you've completely missed it.
[00:14:58] The minute you make it about anything else, you make it about your prayer life. You make it about how much Bible you know. You make it about the good works that you do going out on the street. The minute you make it about anything other than what Jesus has done, you've missed it. Completely missed it.
[00:15:14] Completely missed it. It's either all him or it's not. Not at all.
[00:15:20] It's not. I say this, it's not 99% Jesus and 1% you. That's 100% wrong.
[00:15:25] It's all Jesus.
[00:15:28] It's all about what he did on that cross. And when you find yourself in a valley, when you find yourself staring at a mountain, your knowledge of the Bible isn't going to move that mountain. Your knowing who your God is and what he says about you is what moves that mountain.
[00:15:45] That's why it says, do not doubt in your heart.
[00:15:48] Doubt what?
[00:15:50] Doubt his love for you.
[00:15:52] Doubt who he says he is.
[00:15:55] Faith is not about you building up some muscle and getting in the gym. Faith is about you saying, God, I bring nothing to this. And I completely rely on, trust on and lean into who you say I am and what you've done already on the cross for me.
[00:16:10] That's what faith is.
[00:16:12] That's why Hebrews says that faith.
[00:16:19] Without faith, it's impossible to please him. Because you have to believe that he is and that he's a rewarder of those who diligently seek him.
[00:16:28] So faith is not.
[00:16:31] Faith is not how much I speak the Bible out. Faith is not how much I do. Faith is not how much about whether I go to church or do this. Faith is about am I leaning on, Am I trusting on? Am I pressing into the love of Jesus and the finished works of the cross.
[00:16:50] Faith comes alive.
[00:16:53] Romans chapter 10 says that faith comes by hearing and by hearing the word of God. And that in the Greek says, faith comes by hearing the message of Jesus.
[00:17:01] You want faith to come alive in your heart? Start preaching the gospel to yourself every day. That's what I do every morning when I wake up. I preach the gospel to myself. If I don't remind myself of where I've come from, I'm just as capable of falling back into the same things as the world falls into and the people that don't know the Lord. Every day I remind myself, father, I thank you that you paid a price for me. Father, I thank you that you redeemed me, Lord God, that I am not who I used to be, but you've given me a new heart, Lord God. And you call me by name, Jesus. And Father, I thank you that you went to the cross. You paid every price for my sins, Lord God. And you present me holy and blameless before God now, Lord, and I want to fulfill everything that you have for me. I want to walk in the newness of life, Lord God. And I take off the old man and I put on the new man that's created in Christ Jesus, Lord God. And I walk according to your word and according to your spirit. Amen. You got to preach the gospel to yourself every day.
[00:17:55] Every day. Because that's how faith comes alive.
[00:17:58] Amen.
[00:18:00] Is that good?
[00:18:03] I encourage you preach just for this week alone. Just get up every morning and recite the gospel to yourself. Just remind yourself that you once were a sinner separated from God, but Jesus paid the price for you on the cross and his blood was shed for you. And now you've been given a new heart and a new lease on life and a new nature. And you have eternal life with God, never to be separated from him again. Just preach that to yourself every day. It'll change your life, man. It'll 100% change your life. You will not worry about your bills or about what's happening in your workplaces or about whether or not you've been good enough or you've said the right things or your behavior modification or any of that stuff. You preach that stuff to you every day, man. It'll transform you. Because the gospel is the power of God.
[00:18:44] Amen. Hallelujah.
[00:18:47] Thank you, Jesus.
[00:18:49] Thank you, Lord. The gospel calls us into rest.
[00:18:53] The gospel calls us into a place of sitting at his feet. Psalm 23 says, the Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He leads me beside still waters. He leads me into green pastures. Amen. It's about rest. The Gospel is about rest. It's not about striving. It's not about effort. It's not about what you do. It's about rest. Amen.
[00:19:11] We rest in his finished work. Let's look at this together. Let's get some scripture going. Amen. Because none of that was in my notes, by the way. Hallelujah. So let's go. Hebrews, chapter 1, verse 3. In the new King James. Let's look at this.
[00:19:24] We're talking about Jesus, who being the brightness of his glory and the express image of his person. So this is saying that Jesus is the glory of God. When we look at Jesus, we see the glory of God. We see who God truly is. He was hidden in the Old Testament, but he's revealed now in the New Testament through Jesus, so it says. And upholding all things by the word of his power, when he, he had someone say by himself, purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the majesty on high.
[00:19:56] We're going to look at a couple of scriptures today. And I want to see. I want you to pay close attention to this verbiage where it talks about how he had or he has, or he has by himself. I want you to pay close attention to that as we go through the scriptures today. But this is saying that what Jesus did through his life, his death and his resurrection was final, complete, full and finished. And check this out. Jesus has rested from his work so that now we can rest in what he has finished.
[00:20:25] So Jesus has rested. The Bible says that he has now ceased from his works. He sat down at the right hand of the majesty on high. Why? So that we can enter into that rest. Now, that's what Timmy was talking about in huddle this morning. It says we have to labor. We have to work at entering into this rest. Because everything in the world wants to get you out of rest, wants to get you out of trusting in Christ. It wants to get you out of what the gospel truly is. It wants to get you out of that, into effort. But the gospel is all about you coming into rest.
[00:20:56] You have peace with God.
[00:20:59] God's not mad at you.
[00:21:01] God's not deciding on whether he will or not fulfill the promise in your life based on what you've been doing. God's already decided he's going to fulfill the promise because of what Jesus did.
[00:21:13] Oh, man, that didn't land.
[00:21:15] God's not deciding whether or not he's going to do that work in your life based on what you've been doing or whether you've been doing enough. God's already decided he's going to move. He's going to make a way. He's going to part the scene in your life because of what Jesus already has done.
[00:21:29] Amen. Did that land?
[00:21:32] Is it about you?
[00:21:34] Oh, it better not be about you. Because it ain't going to work if it's about you. I was not convinced. Is it about you?
[00:21:40] Is it about him? That's better, Church. Amen. We're getting it. We're getting it.
[00:21:45] Hallelujah.
[00:21:48] And you know that. So all of that is amazing, right? That's all amazing. But here's what makes this even more incredible. God planned all of this before the foundation of the world, before you were ever created, before you took a breath. God had already planned to do this work in your life.
[00:22:06] He'd already decided to bless you before you were even here.
[00:22:10] Like, let that sink in, how much he loves you. That before the foundation, before he spoke away, before there was an earth for us to live on, he'd already decided in Christ that he was going to bless you.
[00:22:22] He was going to call you his own. He was going to draw you to himself. That oodles my noodle, man.
[00:22:29] Let's read this. In Ephesians, chapter one, verse four together. You ready?
[00:22:34] Check it out. If you don't believe me, read the Bible, man. Look. Ready? Just as he chose us, someone say in him before the foundations of the world, that we should be holy and without blame. Say before him, in love. Check that out. He chose us. Go back. He chose us in him, in Christ, before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame. Before him, in love, Were you there?
[00:23:03] You weren't there when this decision was made by God.
[00:23:08] So if you weren't there, why does what you do now supersede what he's already decided?
[00:23:15] Can you override God's decision?
[00:23:18] No. Because that would make you God, wouldn't it? Are you God? Despite this stupid doctrine out there where people think that we're like somehow. Look, it's just stupid. We are not that God is God.
[00:23:28] He is God. I Am not. I'm a created vessel. Amen. He is the Creator. I serve and worship him who was blessed forever. Amen.
[00:23:38] Just as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love. Next verse.
[00:23:45] Having predestined, that word simply means that he decided.
[00:23:51] He looked at everything, time, space, everything and all of that, and he went.
[00:23:56] My decision, my predestined outcome for Paulie's life is that he's going to be adopted as a son of God through Christ Jesus. And check this out. According to the good pleasure of his will, this was God's plan.
[00:24:13] That is awesome.
[00:24:17] Y' all better run around crazy like chickens with their head cut off. That is like.
[00:24:21] That is the gospel, man.
[00:24:23] That is the gospel right there.
[00:24:27] But we.
[00:24:29] We somehow think that our actions can override God's decisions. God's already decided to bless you. He's already decided to redeem you, to heal you, to restore you, to give you those promises that are yes and amen in Christ. He's already decided.
[00:24:47] Labour into rest, labor into the finished work of Jesus.
[00:24:55] Don't let the enemy get you distracted and looking somewhere else.
[00:25:00] Strive and labor to enter into the finished works of Jesus.
[00:25:06] Amen. Hallelujah.
[00:25:11] I am, bro.
[00:25:12] I'm so built up right now, bro. I tell you what, man.
[00:25:16] It's been 11 weeks or so since I've been. It's been a long time. I actually had to ask the Holy Spirit. I was like, just make sure I preach what you want me to say, because I got a lot to say. Holy Spirit. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Lord.
[00:25:29] Your identity, your position, your acceptance. It is finished in Christ. It's decided. It's already decided.
[00:25:36] Because God desires that heaven is full to the overflow. Check this out. Not with perfect people, but with redeemed people.
[00:25:44] Oh, it's so good. Because I'm not perfect, but I'm definitely redeemed because of the blood of Jesus. Hallelujah. The cross was never about forgiveness of sin or only about forgiveness of sin. It was about the restoration of God's children back to himself.
[00:26:01] Oh, hallelujah, Jesus.
[00:26:04] Amen.
[00:26:05] Amen. Amen. Amen. So how does that fit into your life today?
[00:26:11] What lie are you believing?
[00:26:13] What lie are you believing about? Somehow you've got to add something to the gospel.
[00:26:20] It can be even a little bit, because like I said at the beginning, I said the minute you make it about anything other than what Jesus has done for you, you've completely missed it. You've completely missed it. I live here, guys.
[00:26:31] I live in this place where it's all about Him.
[00:26:36] Because I'm a mess, dude. I'm an absolute mess.
[00:26:41] But Jesus holds me together, man.
[00:26:44] And it's all about Him. I absolutely lean on him for everything. When my kids get sick, I can't heal them, he can. And I'm gonna do the things in the natural that I can do. But I'm not relying on any of that other than Him. I'm absolutely dependent on him. When the work dries up, I'm not trying to make something happen. I just press more into him.
[00:27:08] Like, I don't add anything to this gospel. When I need something, it's not all right. I've got to do, do, do. No, I gotta rest, rest, rest.
[00:27:17] That's why the Bible continually talks about renewing your mind. It's like this. We've got to convince ourselves every day. We've got to convince our hearts. I must have lost weight while I've been off.
[00:27:29] We've got to convince our hearts every day that he is who he says he is and he's done what he said he's done. Because everything will try and get you to not believe that. That's what you preached a couple weeks about. About doubt. Everything's trying to get you to doubt that the gospel.
[00:27:44] But thank you, Lord.
[00:27:49] The power of God in your life is not manifested by your goodness.
[00:28:01] Amen.
[00:28:02] I'm like, well, do I add to that? He's like, nah.
[00:28:05] Thank you, Jesus.
[00:28:07] All right. Hallelujah. You getting blessed? I hope so. It's the gospel. Amen.
[00:28:13] All right, let's read Colossians, chapter one. Starting in verse 13, together we're going to look at three incredible words in this passage of Scripture.
[00:28:23] I'm going to give you those words up front so you can be looking out for them. The first one is rescued.
[00:28:27] Someone say rescued.
[00:28:29] Second one is redeemed. Someone say redeemed. And the last one is reconciled. Someone say reconciled.
[00:28:36] Rescued, redeemed and reconciled. You got those?
[00:28:41] All three of these words give us a clearer picture of what Christ's finished work is all about. So let's start in verse 13, Timmy.
[00:28:50] Amen. Hallelujah.
[00:28:52] So again, pay attention to the verbiage here, the tense here.
[00:28:57] It says, for he has rescued us and has drawn us to himself. There's that to himself again. You see that? From the dominion of darkness and has transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son. Say that. Stay there. Right there.
[00:29:15] It's so important that you see the Verbiage here.
[00:29:18] Is this something that God is going to do?
[00:29:24] It's not, is it?
[00:29:26] It's something he's already done. He's already predetermined. He's already decided. And what's more, he's already finished it in Christ.
[00:29:37] For he has rescued us and has drawn us to Himself from the dominion of darkness and has transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son. It's a done deal.
[00:29:51] It's a done deal.
[00:29:53] And like I said before, do your dumb decisions override God's predetermined will?
[00:30:00] They can't.
[00:30:02] They can't. So if you take anything away from today, humble yourself to the point of knowing that you can't override what God has done. Okay?
[00:30:12] Like, just. Just get that what he's already decided to do, he's not going to change his mind about you.
[00:30:20] Amen. Thank you, God.
[00:30:23] So let's look at this. Break this down. He has delivered. Not. He might not. He will if you do something. Or he's deciding to. He has done it. And now, for those of you who know me, whenever I get up here, I love to break this down a little bit more into the Greek. And we're just learning about strongs and how you guys are learning about that. So that really blessed me. So let's look at this word rescued. In the Greek, the word is rhyomai, and it means to rescue, to deliver, and to draw out of danger. See, the word rescue doesn't really do it enough justice when you look at it in the original intent of this word and its meaning. It means to rescue, to deliver, and to draw out of danger.
[00:31:03] He has delivered. So you can replace rescued with delivered and drawn us to Himself. Rescued from the power of darkness and drawn him to himself.
[00:31:15] Amen.
[00:31:17] So God in his salvation plan isn't simply rescuing you from hell, he's bringing you to Himself.
[00:31:28] The whole purpose of the cross was not to just save you from a devil's hell.
[00:31:33] It was to restore you to his feet.
[00:31:39] It was to bring you into his presence.
[00:31:43] It was so that you, as a son and a daughter, could fellowship with your Father.
[00:31:50] Amen.
[00:31:52] Oh, man, that is so good.
[00:31:54] He didn't want you. He didn't just want you out of darkness, he wanted you home.
[00:32:04] I can't tell if you guys are just like, hanging on for the next thing or something or.
[00:32:09] Man, it's so good. Hallelujah.
[00:32:13] Then let's have a look at that word dominion.
[00:32:16] So that word dominion is the word exousia, and it means authority. Dominion, jurisdiction, or ruling power. So he has taken you out of the control or the dominion of darkness. So we were all slaves and subjects to the devil in this world, Right? We were all under the dominion of sin. But through Christ and what he did, in that simple verse in Colossians, it says he has transferred you from the dominion of darkness, and he has plenty placed you into the kingdom of His Son. So you were under the rule of oppression and darkness and sin, and it had control over you. But now you are under the rule of Jesus. You are under his light, under his yoke, which is easy. You are under his kingship, his headship. And if he is your king and ruler, and he is a good, good Father, how much more is he going to bless you than the stuff that you've been walking out when you were under a slave to sin and the darkness that was in your life, the oppression that you face?
[00:33:15] His kingdom is a kingdom of joy, righteousness, and peace in the Holy Spirit. Hallelujah. So he's wanting to abundantly bless your life because you're under his rule now. You're under his kingship now. You're under his dominion now. Amen. So anytime something comes onto your doorstep or into your life that looks like the dominion of darkness, you can tell it to get lost in the name of Jesus, because you're under a different ruler, you're under a different authority, you're under a different king.
[00:33:44] Amen. Hallelujah. Glory be to God. Thank you, Jesus.
[00:33:49] Amen.
[00:33:50] I've got so much. How much time do I have? Pastor Tina, are you guys good? You guys good? If I just keep rolling.
[00:33:58] Amen.
[00:34:00] Thank you, Jesus. He has transferred us. This is not something Jesus might do. It is something he has already accomplished in the Christ in the cross.
[00:34:10] This is why you, you know, we talk about the believer's authority. This is why you can have a believer's authority. This is why you can speak with authority, the word of God, because you're under the headship and the rule of the King.
[00:34:25] And if he decrees a thing, you as his ambassador are simply agreeing with and mirroring what he's already said. He's already made the decision to bless you, to bring about abundance in your life, to heal you. He's already made that decision, and all you're simply doing is agreeing with it. A lot of the times I think we as Christians try to convince God to do something in our lives, or we try to convince ourselves that God is going to do something in our lives. If you get anything, you have to understand that God is not up there deciding if I'm going to bless you today. Am I going to bless them today? Have they done enough to be blessed today? He's already decided in Christ Jesus that he's going to do with it. Now you just got to position yourself in rest and stop striving to make it happen in your life and simply say, lord, thank you that you have already decided to bless me. And that's not about me or my works, God. It's about your work on the cross. And I'm simply going to sit here and expect the blessings of the Lord, which make me rich, Lord God, because not rich in wealth and money, rich in joy, rich in peace, rich in kindness and love, rich in compassion, Lord God, because you've already done it. Amen. Thank you, Jesus.
[00:35:37] Yeah, thank you, Lord.
[00:35:41] Hallelujah. All right, we better get to the next verse, guys. Colossians 1:14.
[00:35:47] We've got to get to 22. We might have to skip a few. 99, 100.
[00:35:51] Colossians 1:14.
[00:35:54] In whom we have someone say we have redemption because of his sacrifice resulting in the forgiveness of our sins and the cancellation of sins. Penalty. Again, we have not. We're trying to get. We have redemption because of his sacrifice.
[00:36:14] So there's a cause and effect here. Do you guys see this? In whom Christ? We have redemption. We've been. Hold on. We've been rescued and transferred by Christ into the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom now we have redemption because of his sacrifice, which then results in the forgiveness of our sins and the cancellation of sins. Penalty. Amen. So look.
[00:36:38] Oh, man. Thank you, Jesus. The word redeemed. Let's look at that. Tim. The word redeemed is the Greek word.
[00:36:46] Who wants to try it?
[00:36:49] Oh, mama.
[00:36:55] That's what I'm talking about right there.
[00:36:57] The Greek word apolytrosis. You gotta say it with the apolytrosis.
[00:37:04] Hallelujah.
[00:37:07] So it means redemption, release, liberation, secured by a payment.
[00:37:14] So the release of sin's penalty or the cancellation of sin over our lives came as the result of a payment.
[00:37:25] A payment. He has. Remember that.
[00:37:28] So then the question is begged to be asked, did Jesus pay enough?
[00:37:36] Because I think a lot of us live in a place where we think he didn't pay enough.
[00:37:40] Oh, that hits, eh?
[00:37:43] Because anytime you doubt if God's going to move in your life or he wants to move in your life, then you're saying the price wasn't enough.
[00:37:54] So you have to live in a place. You have to know that the payment was made that he paid it all.
[00:38:02] There's nothing left for you to pay.
[00:38:06] It's paid in full.
[00:38:09] Amen.
[00:38:11] Don't live in a place where, where you think you gotta add a 10% tip. There's no GST on the gospel, man.
[00:38:24] That's a good word, Holy Spirit.
[00:38:27] That's a good word, Holy Spirit.
[00:38:30] Hallelujah.
[00:38:40] I tell people, man like God is the originator of dad jokes. Man like that was good Lord.
[00:38:52] The prices of where am I? The price has been paid. There was a payment that was needed to rescue me from sin and from death and from destruction.
[00:39:07] I can't in myself pay anything towards that price.
[00:39:14] I don't contribute to that.
[00:39:17] I don't. I don't add my 5 cents, my 10 cents. I don't add anything to that payment. That was a complete payment, a one time offering that Jesus made. And the price wasn't silver and gold or good works or great effort or striving. It was the blood of the Son of God spilt on the mercy seat of the Father. And when God looks at you, he doesn't look at anything else other than the blood.
[00:39:43] And he says, paid in full.
[00:39:46] So when you doubt the promise, it's paid in full.
[00:39:50] When you doubt God's love for you, it's paid in full.
[00:39:53] When you doubt whether he will or won't move in your life, it's paid in full.
[00:39:59] You can tell the enemy that it's paid in full.
[00:40:04] Cha Ching.
[00:40:05] And that check ain't bouncing, it's paid in full.
[00:40:10] And you gotta preach that to yourself.
[00:40:13] You gotta remind yourself of that truth every day.
[00:40:16] Because things on the outside don't look like it's paid in full. Sometimes they look like maybe, I don't know, there's going to be a debt collector knocking on my door at some time. But it is paid in full.
[00:40:30] It's done.
[00:40:32] And you might be thinking that your life right now, and this is the Holy Spirit, you might be looking at your life and saying, it doesn't look like it's paid in full. It doesn't look like the price was enough.
[00:40:42] But that's the lie. That's the intrusive thought. That's the devil trying to steal your faith.
[00:40:48] That's the devil trying to get you to not believe in the goodness of God.
[00:40:54] And you have to recognize that. And you have to tell yourself it is paid in full.
[00:41:01] It is done. And the promise is not determined by my actions or what I see. It was a predetermined decision by the Father, before the foundations of the world to bless me in spite of me. Hallelujah.
[00:41:18] And he trampled the serpent under your feet, under the feet of Jesus.
[00:41:24] And he took away and he stripped his authority and he paraded that devil around like dragging a Roman battlefield soldier defeated enemy behind him. He triumphed over him in the cross.
[00:41:38] And that victory is your victory.
[00:41:42] Amen. Hallelujah.
[00:41:47] I'm preaching myself happy. Hallelujah.
[00:41:52] 10%.
[00:41:59] Hallelujah.
[00:42:02] We better jump forward a little bit, Timmy. We're going to jump forward to verse 20 of Colossians.
[00:42:08] Go and read Colossians chapter one from verse 13 to verse 22. Okay, that's your assignment for this week. Go and read that. So you've got two assignments this week. You got to read Colossians chapter one from 13 to 22. And you got to every day wake up and do what?
[00:42:22] Preach the gospel to yourself. That's your assignment for this week. It will change your life. Hallelujah.
[00:42:29] I am not.
[00:42:31] I am not perfect.
[00:42:33] Hallelujah. Whoa. Shock har, everybody. I thought everyone would say, nah. Yeah, not. I'm definitely not.
[00:42:41] I honestly, I didn't even know how it was going to go today. I thought I was like, it's going to be rusty or whatever. But I live here.
[00:42:51] I live here.
[00:42:53] I live in this place where I'm absolutely convinced that I add nothing to the Gospel.
[00:43:01] It's all about Him.
[00:43:03] And yes, things will try and tell me otherwise, but I remind those things that it's paid in full.
[00:43:12] The price has been paid. The blood was spilt.
[00:43:16] And that blood determines by God's predestined will that I am holy and blameless, that I am accepted, that I am chosen and I am righteous, not by my actions, but by his decision.
[00:43:31] That's the gospel.
[00:43:33] That's the Good News Church.
[00:43:36] That's the message we preach.
[00:43:39] Amen.
[00:43:40] So let's look at this in verse 20. I'm going to go through to 22 to me and then I'll come back.
[00:43:46] And through the intervention of the Son, paid in full to reconcile all things. Say it again. To himself, making peace with believers, any believers in this room this morning, through the blood of his cross, through him.
[00:44:06] Does it say through Jeremy? No.
[00:44:09] Through him I say, whether things on earth or in heaven. Next verse.
[00:44:15] And although we were once at time estranged and alienated and hostile towards him, participating in evil things, that was your old man.
[00:44:24] Yet Christ has now, see the tense, the verbiage has now reconciled you to God. Not maybe going to. Or might one Day. He has now reconciled you to God in his physical body through death.
[00:44:41] For this purpose. Are you ready?
[00:44:44] Cause and effect, in order to present you before the Father, holy and blameless and above reproach. Beyond reproach.
[00:45:00] That word present in the Greek. Timmy, let's go to that one. I have to skip the other one. Bro, Just go to that word, present.
[00:45:06] This is the word paristēmi. As a compound word, the word paristēmi. This is so good. This is so good.
[00:45:12] It means to bring one into fellowship and intimacy.
[00:45:19] It means to stand beside.
[00:45:22] It means to bring before another.
[00:45:25] And it means to cause that person or that thing that you're bringing before someone else to stand, to uphold.
[00:45:33] It's made out of two words. The word para, meaning to stand by, and the word histēmi, which means to make firm, to establish, to cause something to stand.
[00:45:45] What this word means, when you put this word to means. It means that when you gave your life to Jesus Church, when you said yes to Jesus and his blood covered you, Jesus grabs you.
[00:45:59] He grabs a hold of you and he brings you before the Father and he presents you. He brings you into fellowship and intimacy with the Father, and he presents you to God.
[00:46:12] And when you feel like you can't, you shouldn't be there, and you're not worthy to be there, he makes you firm.
[00:46:19] He causes you to stand, and he brings you before the Father and he presents you. And I like to think Jesus is like this, dad, check it out.
[00:46:31] Check it out.
[00:46:33] Oh, he's holy.
[00:46:35] Check it out, dad. He's blameless.
[00:46:38] Check it out, dad. He's beyond reproach.
[00:46:42] Oh, hallelujah. And God looks at you and he says, enter in, my beloved, for heart has not mind, has not comprehended the good things God has in store for those who love him. Hallelujah.
[00:47:01] That is so good. Hallelujah.
[00:47:06] Every single person, every single person that has ever was or ever will be will stand before Christ.
[00:47:13] But the difference between those who have made him their Lord is that Jesus will stand with you and he will make you firm and he will not cause you to fall. And he will present you before the Father, holy and blameless. Hallelujah. So anytime the enemy tries to tell you something opposite to that, you tell them it's paid in full.
[00:47:33] That I'm a redeemed, reconciled, rescued and blood bought son of the Most High God. Hallelujah.
[00:47:43] Thank you, Jesus.
[00:47:54] To himself, all of that. All of that scripture. You can see that one little thread through the whole scripture.
[00:48:03] It's done. He has done it. And the purpose of doing it is to bring you to himself.
[00:48:17] Father, I thank you, Lord.
[00:48:22] I thank you for the price that you paid.
[00:48:26] I thank you for the blood that you spilled.
[00:48:30] I thank you that you rescued us, that you brought us back into fellowship with you, God.
[00:48:39] You didn't just rescue us, you redeemed us.
[00:48:42] And you didn't just redeem us, you reconciled us because of that finished work. Jesus, you now present us to the Father, holy and blameless God.
[00:48:54] And we're not going to live in a place of doubting that, questioning that we're convinced, Lord, in our heart that you've done it all, that there's nothing more we can do or add to your gospel. It's a finished work, paid in full. Jesus, we thank you that we don't walk out of here the same today.
[00:49:17] We've seen your glory, we've heard your gospel. Faith has come alive in our hearts. And whatever we're walking out or facing, we know that it's a finished work and that the promises are yes and amen. And that you've already predetermined and decided that victory is our inheritance.
[00:49:35] And we give you all the glory, Lord, in Jesus name.
[00:49:39] And the church said amen. Hallelujah.
[00:49:48] You bless church.
[00:49:50] Is he good?
[00:49:52] Is it paid in full?
[00:49:57] Thank you, Lord.
[00:50:01] With every head bowed and every eye closed, I just want to give an opportunity for anyone in the room today that has not received this beautiful gift of salvation that is questioning whether they would be presented before God, holy and blameless. If that's you this morning and you want to give your life to the Lord, would you just raise your hand right where you are?
[00:50:28] Thank you, Jesus.
[00:50:29] Thank you, God.
[00:50:32] And if you're here this morning and you've just received the revelation of how much you are loved and you'd just like to repeat a prayer after me, just to let that settle in your heart, would you just lift your hand right where you are. And I'd love to pray with you if you just want to pray that prayer, just to receive that revelation this morning. Thank you for the hands, Lord. Thank you, God. All right, church, repeat after me, Father. God, I believe your gospel.
[00:51:03] I believe that you paid it all, that I'm forgiven, I'm redeemed, I'm rescued, and I'm reconciled that you present me, Jesus, before the Father, holy and blameless.
[00:51:21] And I choose this day, Lord, to walk in the truth of your finished work, to never doubt or question your goodness in my life, to never try and supersede your decision to bless me.
[00:51:43] And I know, God, that it's not by my might, my strength.
