Episode Transcript
Welcome to the World Changers Church Gold Coast Podcast. Join us as we listen to today's message. Okay, so Paddy says I'm a teacher, and I am a real teacher of the Word.
I love the Word. But this week, I could not get the structure and framework of what I'm bringing today. It has been frustrating me.
I was speaking to God on the beach yesterday. I was throwing a temper tantrum. I was like, God, you know I'm a teacher.
I have frameworks. I have ways to do this. Don't put me on that stage unless you give that to me.
He's given me something, but I'm not sure quite what's going to happen today because I feel calm. There's this inner thing in me, this atmosphere has been set in me and you guys that the Holy Spirit has come today. And he is coming with some power in some people's hearts today because I quite don't know how this is going to go.
So Paddy, I know you won't mind me sharing, our week has been dark. You know, it's been heavy. It's been an attack.
And I'm a teacher on what the attacks look like, what they feel like, and how you rebuke them and let them go, right? But this week, we got deceived so much that it was only yesterday we saw it. And this is what we're bringing today.
You know, we're doing the series, Victory Over Darkness. And that series is laid heavy on many hearts. We've had a lot of feedback, but what we didn't realise is we were going to be trying to take down at the same time.
And we were sat there last night. Even I had a tear, I think. You had a cry. Paddy's always the cryer of our relationship, sorry. But even I had a tear yesterday and I was like, wow.
I think God has just shown us how heavy people live. I think our week this week was to be so... blocked off or low or disconnected, that we realise how people must feel if they don't get this stuff we're going to talk about today, that we've been talking about for a few weeks. Of course, I do it for a living. I hear people every day who are in trauma, who are in mental and emotional ill health, who need help, but know God and love God.
So there's a gap, right? And we are trying to fill that gap. We're So who's been here for all week so far?
We're on week three. Week one, anyone remember what it was? The good news, yes, absolutely.
So week one, we taught or Paddy preached about the fact that there is nothing you can do to bring the good news into your life. It's done by Jesus, right? The finished work of the cross, the death, the resurrection is all done by Him and Him alone.
And we have the good news to claim. It's in our lives, it's who we are. If you're a Christian here today, if you're not, you're here for a reason.
And that is what we did on week one. Then week two, we went into Pastor Kyle, which was brilliant. And that was about relationship with God. The reason we did a four week series is one without the other is just not gonna work for you.
We know we've got the good news and that's done for us, nothing to do with us. Then step two is relationship with God. You can do all you want and try and war pray and do everything you want.
But if you haven't got relationship with him, you're not in the love with him and you have no currency to convert that supernatural realm in your life. So the relationship comes on the second week. That's all to do with you.
He's done what he's doing. He's done what he's done. Relationship is to do with you, right?
The currency of love, positioning in relationship with him. But then there's more, and that's this week. The repositioning.
The repositioning of yourselves when you know you're not in that stillness with God. So there's this battle we're all in, right? This battle we're all in.
Now, the pre-frame I always do, because I hear a lot of people say, well, I went to church, but I came out feeling awful. you know, not in this church, of course, but in churches, people come out saying, well, I'm never gonna live up to what they say from that pulpit. I'm just not gonna be able to do it.
God demands too much. Now, there is no condemnation in Christ, right? We know this. We know there is no condemnation in Christ.
It says it in the Word. But from this pulpit, We are bringing God's best for your life. I'm going to stand here and I'm going to tell you exactly what He has for you.
Then we're going to work out the process on how you're going to get there if you're not already there. But what's really important to emphasise today is that nobody arrives, okay? Nobody.
Not this side of heaven. Nobody gets there. We're all in a battle.
We're all going to continue in a battle, but you look around in the body of Christ, you'll see some people sorely losing and some winning okay, right? And then everything in between. So there's a difference, isn't there?
And we're going to work out, this is a church of restoration. This is a church of healing. And this is a church of admitting where we're at and working our way to where we're going to be, right?
That's what we do here. We don't just preach the word and expect you to get it and go and do it. It's not how it is.
There's a process. Could I have some water? Thank you. I've seen so many times immediate deliverance for people.
You know, I feel great. I was delivered at the altar. I don't need drugs anymore.
I don't get those thoughts anymore. Six months later, I get an email, I need help again. I'm right back where I started. And that is because God can deliver you in that moment all you want. But if you don't renew your mind with him, if you don't walk that process out with him and say to him, God, that thought's coming back.
Those feelings are coming back. That darkness in me is, I feel it again. He doesn't want, the only thing Satan wants you to do is deny the darkness.
If you can deny the darkness, he can keep using it. And that's what Christians do. They keep like, I can't speak it out.
It's a horrible thought. I can't. No, that's what Satan's making you think you should do.
If you reveal it, God will heal it. All right? But if you don't, Satan will play with your stuff like nobody's business.
All right? So the process. God will always, always, always, always meet you where you're at.
Anyone who walks through this church, anyone who's out there oh and by the way if anyone's missing today when I first when we first got started in worship I thought all the chairs were empty I thought Satan if you think not bringing people here today is going to stop it this is on podcast you know what I mean idiot so and then you all started walking in so that was great so that was good I was like we're recording these things you know so God will always meet you where you are Remember Jesus in his ministry for three years? Did he ever judge anyone for not being, arriving at where they should be? He always met people where they are.
There's absolutely no condemnation, but he will never leave you there. He'll never ever leave you there. So this darkness thing, the series is Victory Over Darkness and this week is repositioning.
It doesn't say reposition. It says repositioning. Like all the way through the Bible, it will say renewing, transforming.
It's not a rival point. It's a process, right? So we all start somewhere and we'll all end up somewhere.
But my rule is if I go through a week, 80% in Christ, I've done extremely well. I've got up and done my Bible. I've worshipped, I've praised, I've done what I need to do to be in Him.
He hasn't gone anywhere. He never goes anywhere. But this darkness is where I see a problem.
I often do 10, 15 clients a week, all Christians, all trying to walk in freedom, right? So I see this. Many are denying their darkness, okay?
Many are denying the darkness. Now, the series is Victory Over Darkness. We've told you what the victory is, but what's the darkness?
What is the darkness in our lives? Is it your circumstances? It's not your circumstances.
Because otherwise, Tina wouldn't be here right now. She would be at home crying and in deep anguish for her mother. She's here smiling, jumping, laughing. She's in Christ. She's believing for her mum. Her mum's healed.
We're believing for it. But if it was about Tina's circumstances, she thinks she'd be here today. Pastor Tina, sorry.
Pastor Tina. I think most of you could probably say, I could have stayed in bed this morning with the thoughts, with the week, with the, it's not circumstances. It is our internal posture is what our darkness is, okay?
If you don't sort out your internal nature to being in Christ, forget seeing it externally because you can't. You can't see it outside of yourself if it's not inside. When God said the internal, when God said the fruit of the Spirit is... Did he say, great kids, they never cause you any problems.
Financial freedom, great job, great car, no problems. You're all fine because you're living in the free. He didn't, he said, love, joy, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness.
It's all internal, right? Gentleness, self-control, against such things there is no law. This is an internal thing, church. And if we go around trying to blame the external situations for our internal posture, you're probably gonna find yourself in the same spot next year or the year after or the year after. So it's not an external thing.
We live in a fallen world. Things are gonna happen. Satan is prowling like a lion looking to devour.
Do you know why he prowls and roars like a lion? Do you know why it says he prowls and then roars? He doesn't eat you, he prowls. Why does a lion roar?
To put you in fear. So your internal state turns to chaos. When your internal state turns to fear, you're out of Christ.
You are not in Christ anymore. Now he's got your internal nature focusing on his battleground, his place, and now he can mess with your head. Now he can mess with your heart.
So we must, must, must, must remember. We must remember to drink. Ephesians 6.2.
I don't think you've got this one, Timmy, sorry. Okay. Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of the dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
In this church and people we serve, and people we spend time with, let's remember, it's not them. It's not that person. That person may be being used mightily by Satan, but it's still not that person.
You've got to get on your knees and pray, get in that war room and pray, but don't get in the war room and pray in fear, get into Christ first, then just say the word. Okay, you don't have to go mental for 16 hours praying. You just have to say the word in love, currency, pour it out.
Okay, so it's about repositioning spirit to spirit. All right, let me see where I'm at. Okay, so.
The Bible explains to us where darkness comes from. It comes from our eyes, it comes from our thinking, which ultimately sits then in our heart, dwells in our heart. In Matthew 6, 22 to 23, it says the eye is the lamp of the body.
Okay, it sees everything. What are you putting on your eyes? What are you putting in your vision?
What's your perspective like? If your eyes are healthy, the whole body will be full of light. But if your eyes are unhealthy, your whole body will be full of darkness.
If then the light within you is dark, how great that darkness is. So it's not saying no non-Christians. It's not saying that this is the darkness of non-Christians. This is the darkness within the light.
This is the stuff you hold secret. This is the stuff that you will not admit or confess to one another. This is the stuff that, yes, I'm fine.
I'm okay. Yeah, no, it's not a problem. No, I don't care.
No, it's all right. I'm too shameful. I'm too, you can't, we can't do that.
The minute you bring, what Jesus wants to do is go to that darkness and say, hey, the light's over here. bring that thought and stick it here and it's gone. I'm telling you now, it's not about years and years of counselling and years and years of healing.
It's repositioning. It's about repositioning. Yes, there might be some stuff you need to clear up.
There might be some trauma you need to release. There might be some experiences that you need to walk through. But Jesus is saying, you just bring it to me and put it in the light and I'll reposition.
We'll reposition together. And then the second one, Romans 1:21, for although they knew God, they did not glorify him or give thanks to him. So their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.
Like that is a heavy responsibility, right? If you go out by your week, you come on a Sunday and tick your box and then you go out and you don't mention God or Jesus to anyone throughout the week. And even when you're praised for your gifts and things that you do in the world and then you go, oh yeah, yeah.
You know, I remember the first year of my Christian journey, I was petrified to mention Jesus. I was cool, you know, I was a really cool person at work. And I remember Jesus, you know, and I was thinking, I tell them this, when you're not brought up a Christian, you don't realise how powerful it is when you say, yeah, I'm a Christian.
They're like, you're a, No, you're normal. What are you on about? You're a Christian.
Like, awesome, tell me more. And God started revealing to me, you don't glorify me in your day, then I'm not gonna, you know, I can't bless that. You know, I can't bless that.
So Colossians says, so what we're talking about here is we're talking about heart posture, okay? Our heart posture, which is our quantum experiences. This is everything since conception to now and every experience you've had, good, bad and ugly, and all of that in your soul.
That's your heart. That's your, ooh, that's everything. All right, then that creates our perspectives.
This is how we see through the eyes. This is why you can be stood with eight people in church. One person says something, seven are fine with it, one's offended.
Why is that? Like, how did it offend someone? Because it hit a nerve.
It hit a nerve in you. That's what I'm talking about here. Now, sometimes people say silly things that might hurt your feelings. But when it's like you look around, you go, why did no one else really feel hurt about that?
Why did no one else get offended by that? Because you know what? Satan's biggest plan is to disunify the church because we're the answer, right?
So where's he going to spend his time? So the point is Satan is not scared of you. He's not.
He's scared of you in Christ. He cannot, he doesn't care if you are busy running around in your dark thoughts, in your dark problems, blaming the world. You've got nothing. What you've got in Christ is power. You are all singing with me the power of Jesus' name.
Right? So if you're spending your life in Jesus' name, go, and it doesn't, in Jesus' name, go, and it doesn't, and in Jesus' name, go, and it doesn't, it's not Jesus' name. Let me tell you, it's not Jesus' name.
It's your positioning. And this is really, really important, really important. So the first scripture we've got, well, it's not, because it was when I first wrote this.
Tell you what I mean, I didn't have the right framework. I was throwing it all around everywhere. 2 Corinthians 5:17, So does it say, therefore, in themselves, the new creation has come.
Does it say in religion, the new creation has come? Does it say in your church identity, the new creation has come? It doesn't. It says in Christ. And in the New Testament, it says a hundred times, a hundred times in Christ.
And then it refers to growth, transformation and renewal. So he's saying, you're not going to get there unless you're in me. It's about him, not you.
So that's why we all have equal right to it. And that's what I love about it. It's not the fact that somebody's a counsellor or somebody's a therapist. We all have equal rights to what he's done.
That makes me excited because I love equal opportunity. And it's about what he's done and we reposition in that. And like I said, there might be some stuff you need to deal with.
If you keep getting pulled into that flesh and those thoughts and that darkness, it's just some stuff you have to process and deal with and get right on. But that doesn't mean you haven't got exactly the same freedom as me and everybody else in this place. So it's an important perspective to master.
You are a spirit being having a human experience. Yeah, we all are. And I don't know about you, but have you seen the souls running around looking for their spirit being?
They haven't connected back to God. All of it is there. God's after them.
God's pursuing them. He'll leave the 99 to go get the one. But that spirit has been connected back to God.
You have direct relationship with Him if you choose to go there, if you choose to renew, if you choose all of that. But the soul is the bit that needs renewing. Yeah?
The quantum nature of who you are, all your experiences, all your pain, all your upset, all your church hurt, as Pastor Tina went through last time. And so in Ephesians, the Apostle Paul was speaking to the church in Ephesus and rebuking their ways as believers. And he said, you were taught with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted and is deceitful, to be made new in the attitude of your minds, to be put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
But see that you were taught that. you were taught to put off your old stuff. Now, I don't know about you, but many Christians I meet weren't taught.
They were saved, everybody goes, woohoo, and then the churches go see you around. Or there's no discipleship to plug into, or there's no teaching. The amount of people that I've seen, we lose them.
We lose their minds and their souls and their, not their spirits, because it doesn't take their salvation, but we lose their faith and their Christ-like nature because they weren't taught. And if you're in here today and you weren't taught who you are in Christ, we're starting a course in May. So sign up.
I want to see you all there because this is important. This is so, so important. Because Apostles Paul said you were taught.
Well, some people say, no, no, no, I wasn't. Nobody's taught me anything. That breaks my heart.
That weighs heavy on me. Has anyone ever heard of Simon Sinek? Yeah, heard of Simon Sinek?
Global guy, global guy. We followed him a lot in corporate. We did a lot of his stuff.
But what I really, really loved about Simon Sinek is his ability to get people's why out of them. Why do you do what you do? Why are you here today?
Why would you sign up for a discipleship course? Why do you sometimes not bother coming if you need a rest day? Why do you sometimes not come because you just need to spend time somewhere else?
Why, why, why, why? It's the powerful belief and attitude system that underlines everything you do. Everything that you do.
And, you know, to be fully in, we've been doing the Alpha course. And in the Alpha course, it says, Christianity is either... just the belief that we all need to believe in to feel better, or it's the most fundamental, important thing that you will ever do with your life, ever. And that's the truth for us in here today.
So if it's the most fundamental, important thing you will ever do in your life, how much effort are you putting into it? Like, what are you doing with that? Are you doing a Sunday?
Is that it? Because that's not going to renew your mind. Sunday is for serving, for fellowship, for being together, for prayer, for miracles, for wonders.
Yes, you might get a bit of discipleship, but that's not it. It's a fully in. Where's your why to be fully in?
And what I find is people need to analyse their darkness first. You need to analyse, why would you need to be a full-on Christian? Well, I'll tell you what, because that's where the only freedom is you'll ever get, ever in this world.
You won't find it anywhere else. I can categorically say it, in the profession I've got, I know. So the darkness in this world is getting bad.
I've just done a business case for a certain thing that we're working on right now in the background. And I've had to put statistics down for mental health, for emotional health, for youth, for children coming up now. And I think that was why I was crying, actually.
I think, honestly, in Australia alone, we're in big trouble. Big trouble. We really are.
And if we don't help these generations coming up, we've got a pandemic more so than the pandemic we're in now. But mark this in 2 Timothy 3.15, mark this, there will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful.
I read that bit to Leo. Lovers of good, treacherous, trash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God. Having the form of godliness, but denying its power.
Do you see that? People are going to have the form of godliness and deny its power, which is by the way, what you do when we're in flesh, when we're over here going, when we're not in Christ, we are denying God's power. Because he doesn't go anywhere and his power doesn't go anywhere and his name above all names doesn't go anywhere and his authority doesn't go anywhere.
Next week, by the way, power of authority. But you know what? I noticed, because the research shows three key areas of mental health.
Acceptance, security, and significance, okay? So the reverse of that is most people feel not accepted, insecure, and insignificant, all right? Now, and then, because I know Genesis, I was reading Genesis, I was thinking, they are the three things that came in during the fall.
The three things that came in when we fell as humanity. So we had doubt, first of all, are you sure? Are you sure?
No, God wouldn't have said that. Don't be silly. Shame, all of a sudden they knew they were naked.
They felt shame immediately when they came, when we fell. And then insecurity, no solid foundation. Fear, straight away, they were frightened and hid. Straight away, they ran and hid from God.
Blame, she told me. Oh yeah, but he told me, the serpent told me, and she told me to eat it. And you know, does that sound familiar?
Pointing out, as Tony Robbins said, when you're pointing out, three fingers are pointing right back at you. Compassion and desire to be like God, pride, came straight in. Rebellious nature.
And then insignificance, dominion over all things became hardship and survival. yet to work the ground, the soil's cursed. So the minute our fall happened, these three things that we now see as prominent in mental health is still going on, you know, and not in the body of Christ should it be, right?
It shouldn't be in us. It shouldn't be in us. Now, I want you to listen to these things because at the end of today, we're going to do communion and we are going to do some ministry because I really want, and I know this is why Satan didn't want this to happen this week, because you guys are going to reveal to yourself, confess it to somebody, what's going on in your heart.
Because in a powerful place like this where the enemy isn't allowed in, there's no influence in here whatsoever other than God's presence and God's healing nature and all that he has for you. So if you can't do it in here, forget doing it out there. So this is a safe place.
And we know this, we get texts saying this is a safe church and we love that. So if it's a safe church, we're gonna minister today to each other and we're gonna really go down that route. But I want you, if you can, put your hand on your heart if you want to.
And I want you to listen to these words and I want you to ask the Holy Spirit, is any of this in me? Is any of this in me? Because I wanna reveal it so it can be healed once and for all.
Okay, rejection. Rejection. feeling unlovable, shameful, guilty, fearful.
I feel alone. I feel untrusting. I feel worthless. I feel inadequate. I feel hopeless. I feel helpless.
And there's these behaviours that we all do out of those emotions, which is people pleasing. I people please. I attention seek.
I have to have attention or I feel unworthy. I feel insecure if I don't get that attention. I conform to anyone around me in the week because otherwise I'm just not significant enough.
Codependency, manipulation, defensiveness. Overly competitive behaviour. There's mine right there. Social withdrawal and isolation. Emotional withdrawal. Depression, oppression and low moods.
Just feeling like, what's it all about? Aggression and bullying. Acting out or rebellious behaviour.
Lack of motivation. Just not wanting to do anything. I just don't want to do anything anymore. Lack of engagement. cynicism or negativity, intrusive thoughts.
All of these things are the battle we're all in. Nobody doesn't have one of these going on. It's just how much do you have going on?
The fall caused us to live in a fallen world where these things are constantly tormenting us if we're not in Christ. And today, that darkness needs to be told. It doesn't belong.
We're not going to deny it. We're not going to say you don't exist. You know, when I went to Ramah Bible College, sometimes some of the students will go, no, in Jesus' name, you don't feel like that.
I'm like, well, I do feel like that. It's not about denying the darkness, about speaking the word into the darkness. It's about knowing who you are and where you belong and saying, that's the darkness.
It doesn't belong to me, but I know it's from my past. There's something there. And you know what?
God can't just deliver it. He needs to show you how you got there in the first place or you'll be right back there because that's the renewal process. He's got to show you in your heart, you know how you got to that depression in the first place?
Let me show you, hand in hand. Let me show you. And I'm going to walk you into the light with this.
You know, he doesn't judge, just like this church doesn't judge. But if I hear someone say I'm all right again, when they're not, I'm going to go, are you sure? I'm going to look you right in the eyes.
And we're going to, because that's what we're here for. What's the point in church and restoration and healing together and confession if we're not together on that? All right, 43% of Australians are suffering from mental and emotional health now.
We're nearly halfway there, and that's probably statistics from 23. And there's 43% of Christians in Australia, the exact number that there is in mental health. Now, I hope that the mental health isn't from us, but I haven't seen a lot of difference since I've come into the body of Christ 10 years ago.
Sometimes in us and them, I say us and them, as in non-Christians to Christians, we should be shining so bright that people are running to our door to say, what is it? Especially in these last days, we don't even have to highlight this anymore to people. They are running, they are searching, they are watching you in your workplaces.
They need help. They're searching. But if we're running around with all our darkness denied in secret and out of Christ, they're not gonna see Him in us.
And that's a problem, okay? But our freedom first. This isn't about other people.
This is about your freedom, your positioning in Christ. When you do that, you watch that overflow. You won't even have to say a word and people will be asking you who your Lord and Saviour is because they will see the overflow in your world.
Now, Go to the slide with the positioning. Sorry, I think it's the first. That's it, yeah.
So there's a thing called cognitive repatterning, which we do all the time in coaching. I use it a lot in Christian coaching. And it's talking about the carnal nature, the flesh nature that we have.
And you can see in Galatians there. So I say, walk by the Spirit and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the flesh desires is contrary to the Spirit.
And the Spirit is what contrary to the flesh. You can't be in flesh and Spirit. It's impossible.
You can't be in fear and faith. You can't be in God and Satan. You can't be in them all at the same time. There's no way if you're in fear, you can be in faith.
Okay, so it says in Christ, in Spirit, but the fruit of the Spirit is. okay and what I love about this is you know we're not this is the no condemnation part this is the bit where we look at it and go that belongs to me and I'm kind of here 60 70 percent of the time I'm working my way I'm working my way there are things I can do and and if you could um start handing out the cards guys that would be wonderful thank you what time are we on Okay, you'll see like some people often say when I preach, it was like a TED talk or a coaching talk. I'm sorry if it's not like a preach, I'm not really a preacher.
But these cards here are the coaching cards I use with clients. I use often around with people because the important thing is the process. The process of healing is about renewing your mind.
It doesn't say be renewed by your heart. Because you can't renew your heart until you've made the mind. The mind, the soul, is your will, your choices, and your thoughts, okay?
You have to choose first, okay? Now, you'll see on one side, if you have a look at this, called the wheel of life, okay? The wheel of life, if you have a look on the back, it's got one to 10 on it, okay?
If you imagine a wheel flowing, what you have to do is go around each individual area. Can I have one, Paddy? Okay.
There are things on the back here which many of you won't be doing or will be doing, but the ones that are doing them and stepping into their in Christ nature, stepping into what belongs to them, you'll be doing at least 80% of these things on a regular basis. And if you're not, you're probably feeling that you're not in Christ a lot. You're not feeling those benefits of freedom and joy and love and things like that.
But if you have a look at the top one to 10, what you're going to do is go around, not now, take it home with you, look at it, analyse it, And Mark from one to 10, 10 being, I do that a lot. I'm fully in, I'm in the discipleships. I worship with people.
I do community at home. I praise. Because you know, you have a left and a right side hand of the brain.
And one of the books that's recently been launched is Left Side Christians. Left Brain Christians, it's called. And it is amazing because, sorry guys, but under 30 year olds, you're a lot of thinkers.
There's a lot of thinkers. And the reason being is because of gaming and information. You were brought up in the information, you're thinkers, high thinkers.
And what they're starting to recognise is without the right hand side of the brain engaging, with worship and praise and gratitude and stillness and all of that. I'm literally susceptible to this. That's why I bought the book because I am left-hand brain.
I'm a logic analytical person. And when Paddy's crying like a baby, I'm like... And then I have to really try and get myself there. And I'm like, oh yeah.
So it takes some time. It takes some time. But the point is, if you number one to 10 on each of those areas, really honestly with yourself, and then take full accountability for why you might not be living in the freedom of Christ, or you are living in the freedom of Christ, So this is where you come into it.
And you can imagine if a lot of them are down at one, two, three, you've got to up your game, you know? And this again, go back to no condemnation. This is not about condemnation.
This is about awareness, observation, staring the darkness of yourself in the eyes and say, no more are you going to deceive me. No more are you going to make me think. that I am a loser or I'm anything other than belonging as a child of God.
Because again, you have the equal rights that everybody else has in the good news of the gospel. And it is good news. And so on the other side, you've got, you know, when you're studying the Bible, always study the multiple scriptures that back up the principle, right?
All right, the backup of the principle. Don't find one scripture and sit on that. This, these are the three key areas of mental and emotional health, okay?
I am accepted. I'm a child of God. I am Christ's friend.
I've been justified. I am united with the Lord. I have been bought with a price.
I belong to him. I'm a member of Christ's body. I'm a saint, a holy one. I have been adopted as God's child.
Now, if you're reading these and it feels quite cold and doesn't feel much, that's where praise and worship comes in. Gratitude, go back to your salvation. Remember why you were saved in the first place.
Remember your life before being a Christian. Watch some non-Christians, but don't just watch them on the outside because they often look happy, but get to know them and see what's going on behind the scenes when their voids and the hurt and the emptiness comes up. And we have them as well, but we have something that belongs to us.
Do you remember when Jeremy preached a brilliant message on carefree? And Jeremy said, I didn't see the darkness before I was saved. I didn't see it.
I just lived it. Same as me. One part of my testimony is I walked hand in hand with Satan when I was not saved.
You know, I know him quite well because I did some damage with him in this world. You know, quite evil I was. And he had me hook, line and sinker.
And that's why he can't get me now. Well, apart from this week, we got deceived a little bit, but because Jeremy said, when the Holy Spirit comes in and witnesses to you, and this is another thing why discipleship is so vital, ongoing discipleship, is because the minute God reveals to a Christian, especially if you're new saved in here today, Satan didn't care about you before. He does now if you're saved.
And so he turns and he attacks and you don't know who you are in Christ. That's when we lose people. That's when we lose people.
You'll never lose your salvation. Let's make that clear, okay? You can't take the salvation, but he can take your life in full and what belongs to you here on earth.
The abundance and the life and the love and the treasures of reconciled families and mental health and emotional health gone. This here is the renewal of the mind. If you don't cognitively imprint the new of what he says you are, you're gonna stay with who you think you are. And if your dad was anything like my dad, he didn't call me good names.
He didn't say I was a good person. He doesn't say what God says about me and neither did the bullies and neither did the experiences I went through. And I know all of you have been through similar because it's the world.
So if you haven't, if you have been through this stuff, every experience is embedded in your identity. Every hurt, every pain. And as you go through and heal those and override it with renewal of the mind, you become a new person.
You position, you reposition in who God says you are. Okay. So please take them home and use them.
So we put communion at the end today because I wanna go into communion and then I wanna go straight into ministry. It's so important today to do communion on your own, okay? They're up here.
The whole message is repositioning. Get up and make a decision to come up and to focus on what Jesus has done for you. Ask Him, reveal any unforgiveness in my heart, Jesus, as you take communion.
Ask Him, reveal any darkness. Help me to see it so I can give it back. You know, you'll see in this image, the bread and the blood, but He is alive, right?
Is He alive with us? Did He rise? Did the tomb go?
Did He come out? Is He alive? He's alive.
So many Christians get stuck here. at the foot of the cross. No, walk through the cross and know what he's done and position with him living.
Don't sit at the cross. Know what the cross did. Come up in a moment when we put the music on.
We've got a specific song. Listen to the words. And then come up, take your communion.
And I've asked the prayer team to grab any one of you or for you to grab each other. Remember, this isn't about knowing how to pray. This is about saying to someone, this is what's on my heart today. Oh my gosh, this is what God's revealed. Help me to pray and to getting rid of that.
And you say, break it off. Break it off in Jesus' name. It's not complicated. You say, break it off. Break that unworthiness off right now in the name of Jesus. Break that sadness off in the name of Jesus. Break that guilt, those feelings, those thoughts off in the name of Jesus, okay?
But first of all, as the song plays, we're not gonna, I'm not coming back up here. There's no ministry, there's only ministry left. No more word.
All right, and I'm gonna pray now as we go into communion. So thank you, Father. Thank you, Father, that you laid this message on my heart for so heavy, because, Father, it's so, so important for people to know who they are in Christ.
And, Father, I ask that every heart and every mind today just reveal to them. Reveal to them, work with them. Give them the courage to see the darkness that may be there and give them the knowing, Father, and the revelation in their hearts that you are who they are.
In you is who they are. The darkness is just something that's there left from their old self. And Father, they just need to process that.
They just need to acknowledge it, observe it. But bring it into the light, Father. Help them to bring those thoughts and that darkness into the light as they heal and restore today, Father.
We command heaven to earth. We command heaven to earth in this place, in this atmosphere right now, Father. We command healings and restoration, families reconciled, people brought together, healing in this place today, God.
mental and emotional healing in this place together, broken off in the name of Jesus, as they realise who they are in you, Father. We are visitors in this world. We are visitors.
We are seated at the right-hand side of Christ. And Father God, let everybody in here today know that that's where they belong and the freedom belongs to them with that. In Jesus' name.
Amen. Thank you for tuning in to today's message. To connect or find out more, you can reach us online at worldchangers.life. Remember to subscribe for more uplifting messages from our pastoral team, and may you continue to walk in faith and transformation until we meet again.
