Thank you for tuning in to the World Changers Church Gold Coast Podcast. Grab your Bibles and settle in as we dive into this special series. Again, thank you so much for joining us for this seven-day prayer and fasting at World Changers Church.
We just want to equip you in how to take communion at home, where you can open up in prayer, where you can reflect on scripture, and just a thought as you partake communion. So go ahead and gather your communion elements. Typically, you have bread or crackers, and you also have juice as well. So we're going to go ahead and begin our communion. You may be at home, you may be at your office, but go ahead and prepare the elements, and we're going to go ahead and start in taking communion together.
So first I want to give you a scripture from Matthew 18 and 20. It says, So communion is a time to remember Jesus. We remember and we think upon Him and we do not forget the benefits that we all have in Jesus.
And it's a time to remember Jesus' sacrifice, to reflect on His love and to renew our faith in Him. It's also to strengthen ourselves in the Lord. And you can partake in communion, whether you're alone, with family or your friends, you can partake of communion anytime and from anywhere.
So we're gonna prepare the elements. So as I stated, the bread or the crackers, that symbolizes Jesus's body. And then the juice, that represents his blood.
Some people may not have juice and water's okay as well. So take a moment to set these elements before you in a quiet and a worshipful space, a space that you can worship him in your heart. So before we go forward in reading of scripture, we're gonna open up in prayer.
So Heavenly Father, we come before you with our hearts full of gratitude. Thank you for the sacrifice of Jesus, for his body that was broken and his blood that was shed for us. We ask you to cleanse our hearts, renew our spirits, and draw us closer to you.
May this time of communion be a reminder. May we remember your great love and our salvation that comes through you, Jesus Christ. And in the name of Jesus, we pray, amen.
So now we're gonna go into some more scripture reading. We first are gonna go to Luke 22, 19 and 20. And it says that, and he took the bread, he gave thanks and broke it and gave it to them saying, This is my body given for you.
Do this in remembrance of me. And in the same way, after the supper, he took the cup saying, this is the new covenant. This cup is a new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.
1 Corinthians 11 and 26 says, So let me give you just a thought. As you take communion today, remember Jesus' sacrifice. Remember that His sacrifice was because of the great love that He has for you.
His body was broken so that we could be made whole. His blood was shed so that our sins could be washed away. And through his sacrifice, we are redeemed, we are restored, and we are reconciled to God.
He calls us the righteousness of God through Christ Jesus. So let's take a moment to just examine. King David said, "'Create in me, O Lord, a clean heart "'and renew a right spirit from within me.'"
Maybe there's something in your life. Maybe you have a burden. Now is the time to lay it at the feet of Jesus, as it says in Matthew 11 and 28. Now is that time to cast away that burden. And so that you can be in a place of peace.
And if there be any shortcoming or mistake or anything in your life, go ahead and confess it before God. So now we're gonna partake in communion. First, we're gonna take the bread.
And just you can lift up that bread and just think of Jesus. So Jesus, we thank you for your body that was broken for us. As we eat this bread, we remember your suffering and the price that you paid for our salvation. Now you can take the bread and you may now eat. And now we want to drink from the cup.
So Lord, we thank you for your blood that was shed, that was poured out for the forgiveness of our sins. Through your blood, we are washed clean and we are made new. And we receive this new covenant with gratitude.
And now you may drink the juice. So let's pray together and just give thanks to God. So Father, we thank you for meeting with us in this time of communion.
We thank you, Jesus, our Savior, and the new life that we have in Him. Help us to walk daily in your grace and to live in a way that honors you. Fill us with your spirit, strengthen our faith and use us for your glory and your glory alone. And it's in Jesus's name we pray. Amen and amen.
Now you may want to lengthen your time of communion by worship and reflection. So I have some good songs that, you know, you can look up for yourself that you can join in. One is I Plead the Blood by Cody Carnes.
How Precious is the Blood by Cody Carnes, Hillsong Worship Remembrance, or Carrie Jobe and Cody Carnes' First Love. So that's just some worship songs that you can have some personal reflection and worship Jesus. But I pray that your time of communion, that it be sacred and a meaningful experience.
And if you choose, you are welcome during your seven days of prayer and fasting to do communion every day, twice a day, three days a week, whatever it is that the Lord lays upon your heart. But God bless you as our prayer and enjoy your fast. Thank you for joining us.
As always, you can reach us at worldchangers.life. We continue to pray God's blessings over you and your walk with Christ.
