[00:00:00] Welcome to the World Changers Church Gold Coast Podcast. Join us as we listen to today's message.
[00:00:05] Father, we thank you.
We thank you, Lord, that you are an amazing, awesome God.
And that this morning we are reminded that you are with us.
You are for us, you are capable above all we can imagine or think to bring things to pass.
So, Father, we thank you for this opportunity to worship you again, to give thanks to you again, to praise you again corporately.
But may worship be a lifestyle that we carry through the week.
And so, Father, we thank you for this moment, this reminder, this refreshing that is pouring out upon us now.
It's in Jesus name we pray and we all say Amen.
Before we leave this moment, can we just whisper to God something from our own hearts, something of our own thanks. And you can do it now. You don't have to wait on a queue.
A worship moment from you to say, Lord, you are the Lord of the universe. You are the host of hosts.
You are amazing.
Thank you for bringing me this far.
Thank you for opening up the heavens and pouring your blessings out on me that I have eternal and forevermore, Lord. Thank you that you're not retreating from me when I mess up. Thank you, God, that you run closer to me when I have problems.
Thank you, God. And I just worship you for who you are. And it's in Jesus name and we say Amen.
Come on, give the Lord a hand clap of praise.
Come on, give the Lord a hand clap of praise. Amen.
Come on.
[00:02:11] He is good. He is good. He is good. Is he good to you?
Is he good to you?
[00:02:19] Amen.
[00:02:20] You faced something you thought you couldn't overcome and you came through. Is he good to you?
[00:02:25] Amen.
[00:02:26] You thought it was the end.
He said it's just the finish line.
[00:02:29] We're starting a new race.
[00:02:30] Is he good to you?
You thought that the enemy had you down, but you got back up the next morning. Is he good to you?
[00:02:39] Amen.
[00:02:41] Come on, somebody worship him this morning.
[00:02:46] Amen.
[00:02:47] Amen. Come on. God is so good. Thank you, guys. Thank you, guys. Thank you, guys.
Amen.
So good.
So good. Like Patty, how do you just move on from that moment? You know, how do you progress without digressing what God has created?
[00:03:07] Amen.
[00:03:09] I think sometimes we need to be more reverent to what God has created.
[00:03:15] Amen.
[00:03:16] Sometimes church can get so loose that we forget that this is a holy place. I mean, we have something close to the burning bush happening. And Moses as a man, that he was, as a stature that he was I'm not even worthy to stand here.
[00:03:33] Amen.
[00:03:33] It's not that we get legalistic, we just. We just need to get reverend again.
[00:03:37] Amen.
[00:03:38] Does that make sense?
[00:03:39] Come on, look at your neighbor and say, I got reverence today.
Amen.
Oh, my goodness.
Oh, Father, I thank you for another opportunity to minister your word and to bring about freedom in your people, to bring about revelation, knowledge of who you are so that we may know who you are. And in our hearts, no matter what we face, we have the power of knowing if God before us, who can be against us.
[00:04:14] Amen.
[00:04:15] Come on, give the Lord a hand clap of praise.
I didn't plan on doing this, so I'm going to go with God for this moment and then I'm going to. I'm going to get back to where I started.
There's a lot of things happening in the church world in the last five years between great men and women falling.
[00:04:38] Amen.
[00:04:39] And it's creating a lot of mistrust in the body of Christ.
The man I'm going to talk about today is probably the man that made the most mistakes in the Bible.
And God said he is a man after my own heart.
I don't want you to get it confused. I'm not gonna say that you can go just messing up because you want to. I'm gonna say that David got to a point, he realized he was a mess and wanted God to fix his messy.
Wanted God to put the right heart in him, the right thinking in him, and the right spirit in him.
And as we can look at others and their faults and their failures and say, how could they do that?
We have to sometimes look at how did we shoot that bird driving down the road this morning to get to church?
[00:05:26] Amen.
[00:05:26] Nobody did that. Okay, super saints, y' all too serious. You just said be reverent. I am.
I'm calling out things that sometimes will distract people. You got angry this week, and you just can't get over the fact that you got that angry. You're just so mad at yourself for getting mad.
We're gonna talk about that today and help you with that.
[00:05:46] Amen.
[00:05:46] Amen.
Because sometimes when we make mistakes, we're in such a life of perfection and performance that we don't know how to keep moving forward. And religion will have us put on a mask. Today is the day to remove all.
[00:06:01] Masks, all religion, all hypocrisy, all fakeness.
[00:06:07] And say, I'm going for God regardless.
[00:06:10] Amen. Amen.
Amen.
[00:06:14] Come on. Thank you, Claire. You got It. You got the memo.
[00:06:18] Amen.
[00:06:20] So I want to read this scripture.
[00:06:21] To you from Nahum. And you may say Nahum, Nahum, or Nahum, but I'm going to read this to you. And this is God's response. Now.
[00:06:29] I will break off the yoke of.
[00:06:31] Bondage from your neck and tear off the chains of Assyrian oppression. He was speaking to an enslaved people, a troubled people, a trapped people.
And God dealt with the Assyrians long before Moses or Joshua even had to. He had weakened them.
[00:06:50] Amen.
[00:06:50] Am I correct? Bible scholars?
[00:06:52] And the thing that I look at is, is I want to point one.
[00:06:56] Word out here before I start this message. Try again.
God's response was, now, I will.
[00:07:06] Sometimes when we're facing trouble in our life or we're facing failure in our life, we start out with, I gotta do. I gotta. I gotta. I gotta.
When you fail with God, and you will, when you don't do it perfect, when you don't give the right response, when you wake up on the wrong.
[00:07:36] Side of the bed, Amen.
[00:07:40] You got to stop saying, I gotta, and you gotta start saying, God will.
[00:07:46] Amen.
Amen.
[00:07:50] You gotta start saying, God will, because God didn't. God has finished the work on the cross, but he is still finishing a work in you.
[00:07:59] Amen.
[00:08:00] His Holy Spirit is still teaching you. So to say God is done is foolish.
Oh, God's done it all. What do you complain? No, the only work that God is doing right now is getting you to.
[00:08:11] Believe that he's done it.
[00:08:15] Because the only fight of faith you got, the only fight you have, is the fight of faith believing, because it's what you believe that directs you.
Now, what if God's people didn't believe.
[00:08:27] That God would do this?
[00:08:29] They'd probably been wiped off the face of the earth.
But God has been fighting our battles from the moment we have been walking out of the womb.
[00:08:40] Amen.
[00:08:41] God knows every hair on your head. God knows every breath you'll take, every trial you'll face.
And we gotta stop letting our fear guide our anointing. We gotta stop letting our fear guide us in life. We gotta start allowing God to do what he said he's going to do.
[00:09:02] Amen.
[00:09:03] Look at your neighbor and say, I think he's talking to you, because he ain't talking to me.
But if you're a believer this morning, say this.
[00:09:14] How many of you know this already, raise your hand and say, thank you, Jesus.
How many are working on this every day? Raise your hand and say, thank you, Jesus.
[00:09:25] You know, I Love people that they come to church and they're perfect and they're funny and they're happy. But when I hear them on phone calls that they don't know I'm present. They're the cussingest fools I've ever met in my life.
We need to change who we are everywhere.
[00:09:37] I've been working on who I am everywhere.
[00:09:39] Again.
[00:09:40] Amen.
[00:09:42] I don't want to be in the shower crying. And because I don't want my wife.
[00:09:45] To see me crying.
[00:09:46] That's just pride.
[00:09:47] I've realized that me not letting my wife and my kids see me cry is just pride.
It's fear of me letting them down and them seeing me weak. They need to see my dependency on the Lord.
[00:09:59] Amen.
[00:10:00] It's not machismo to cry and be tough. It's actually pride.
Show your kids how you get through.
Show them how you fight your battles.
[00:10:11] Amen. Amen.
[00:10:14] So maybe you've tried and it didn't work.
[00:10:18] Anybody been there?
[00:10:19] Maybe you stepped out.
[00:10:21] In case you don't know what the message is called today, it's called try again.
[00:10:24] Maybe you stepped out. Maybe you gave it your all. Maybe you did your best. And then the business failed, the relationship.
[00:10:32] Broke down, and the door didn't open. And maybe you felt like God let you down.
How many times we go to God and say, why did you do this?
[00:10:43] Why did you let this happen?
[00:10:46] That is where you start today. Stop saying that God did this.
God is good. And he's not throwing stupid, stupid trouble in your life just to teach you a lesson. I strongly believe that people that believe that God is teaching you stuff through trials, and God has given you these trials so you can grow in faith are serving the wrong God. Because my God doesn't create trouble in my life. My God creates good in my life and.
[00:11:12] And shows me how to get through.
[00:11:13] And overcome stupid trouble.
[00:11:16] Amen.
[00:11:18] He even said when he talked to Peter, for this is the perfecting of your faith. Yeah, but he didn't say that. He said that trial is for the perfecting of your faith. But he did not say that he caused that trial.
So what do we do with trial?
[00:11:33] We realize that through the name of Jesus, we can overcome. We can break through.
Y' all not shouting me down today.
[00:11:40] Amen. Amen.
[00:11:42] But sometimes we feel.
[00:11:44] I'm gonna emphasize that word. Sometimes we feel like people are letting us down. God is letting us down. But here's the truth, and I need.
[00:11:52] You to hear this today.
Your failure is not final.
[00:11:56] And your story is not over.
When I introduced this today in team huddle, Don said, if you ain't dead yet, God's not done with you.
[00:12:06] Amen.
Amen.
[00:12:08] So if you ain't dead, God's not done with you. And even when you're dead, he's not done with you either. Cause you got an eternity to spend with Him.
[00:12:15] Amen. Hallelujah.
[00:12:17] God is whispering to your heart today. Try again.
[00:12:22] But this time, let him lead you.
This time, let him go before you. This time, let him do it.
See, the key there is what we believe.
The transition from failure to success is faith.
What are you saying out of your mouth?
What are you believing with your heart? What conversations are you having? Who are you listening to that is making you feel better about your anger? Who is making you feel better about your unforgiveness?
[00:12:58] And see, it's all about what you.
[00:13:00] Believe in these moments that makes the transition from failure and fear to faith.
Cause see, I had wrote this before that you've stepped out in faith and you failed.
You can't step out in faith and fail.
[00:13:20] It's not possible. Because if you step out in faith, no matter how much it looks like.
[00:13:25] It'S going to fail you, you keep.
[00:13:26] Pushing on when others quit.
When you step out with faith, you don't give in. When it's.
[00:13:33] When you. When you've made the mistake and you're.
[00:13:36] The problem, you say, no, I believe that God said it. It will come to pass, and even I will be corrected.
Faith will not let you quit.
Because faith is hope. And the Bible says a heart that.
[00:13:50] Has deferred hope will become sick.
Its words will become sick.
[00:13:54] But see, I also know that it can become phony.
[00:13:59] See, Christians, all the time, they talk the game in church, but I see.
[00:14:04] Them in their lives just like I see myself.
You cannot win this battle we're in faking it.
You cannot win it alone.
You cannot win it feeling sorry for yourself.
The only way you win is with Jesus.
So he left you.
They fired you.
They talked bad about you. You messed up. So what?
Feel it.
Own it.
[00:14:38] Give it to God and step into faith. Amen.
[00:14:46] But do not let your failures turn.
[00:14:49] Into fear of moving forward.
[00:14:52] Do not let your failures turn into shame and guilt that you can't trust anyone anymore.
[00:15:00] You will die alone and you will wake up in heaven wondering, God, why did you let me not have friends? It's because you never let anyone in.
[00:15:11] You cared more about what they said was right.
[00:15:14] It's like Christian dating, but not getting married.
[00:15:17] We choose our friends on whether they believe the way we believe.
We choose everyone based on what comes out of their mouth. But none of us are perfect and we need each other.
[00:15:30] Amen.
[00:15:31] So the only way we'll have community is if we kill the gossip trust again.
[00:15:38] Amen.
[00:15:39] If when somebody talks bad about your brother, you say, hold on, let's have a conversation with them.
[00:15:47] Amen.
Amen.
[00:15:54] But when life teaches you to stop trying, there's a well known experiment that if you put a flea in a.
[00:16:00] Jar and you put the lid on it, it. It'll bounce and hit the lid and eventually it'll stop. It'll bounce just before the lid. It'll bounce halfway up the jar and then it will just altogether stop jumping.
[00:16:14] You can add other fleas in there and the other flea will start jumping, hitting the lid, but that other flea will never jump again.
You take the lid off and they could be a hundred fleas in there and they will not jump out even though they can jump across a room to jump on you.
It's because they've been conditioned to no.
[00:16:34] Longer jump that high.
[00:16:37] It's because they believe from an instinct. Because fleas have very small brains.
From an instinct, they no longer will jump because every time they jump, they hit that ceiling.
We do the same thing with our faith. We keep putting our feelings out there and calling it faith. We keep putting our wants out there and calling it faith. We keep putting our agendas out there and calling it faith. We keep putting our agendas out there and call it faith. And all those things will fail.
But if our faith is guiding our agendas, if our faith is guiding our.
[00:17:15] Desires, if our faith is guiding us.
[00:17:19] We cannot fail and all things are possible.
[00:17:25] Amen.
[00:17:28] Well, I believe God for a million dollars. Well, why do you believe God for a million dollars? Because if you believe God for a million dollars, so you can have the house, the car, the shoes, and this and that, you're not believing God for a million dollars. You're wanting God to give you a million dollars so you can feel comfortable.
[00:17:45] That's not faith.
[00:17:47] But if you walk with stewardship, you're going to have a million dollars before you ever know it. Because you're a free giver and you're a good steward because faith guided you.
[00:17:59] Amen.
[00:18:01] We don't need to try again with. I gotta. We need to try again with faith.
I mean, man, man, oh man, oh man, the things that I go through.
[00:18:11] As a pastor just because I carry a title.
[00:18:15] Amen.
[00:18:18] I'm being held to the Other pastor's mistakes, not even my own.
[00:18:23] Amen.
[00:18:24] And I'll put it in your court.
[00:18:26] Anybody ever judge you just because you say you a Christian?
They immediately start thinking, oh, you a happy clappy.
[00:18:33] You a rolly dirty.
You a fishy floppy. You one of them crazy folk.
[00:18:37] They immediately, oh, they immediately think you're.
[00:18:40] Going to ask for their money.
[00:18:41] Amen.
[00:18:43] How often are you judged just because.
[00:18:45] Of the title you carry?
[00:18:48] Well, there's slander on the name of.
[00:18:50] Pastor just as much as there's slander on the name Christian.
[00:18:53] And the only way to overcome that.
[00:18:54] Slander is to be in faith and.
[00:18:56] To be one, not talk like one.
[00:19:01] Amen.
[00:19:03] That condition that fleas get into, that's.
[00:19:05] How life works sometimes. Disappointments, delays, closed doors, criticisms and setbacks over time.
[00:19:12] You stopped dreaming, you stopped reaching, and you stopped expecting, which means you stopped believing.
Man, I had a house given to me fully furnished.
[00:19:26] And when they said it was mine.
[00:19:27] It was almost like, okay, cool, Like.
[00:19:29] I just expected it.
[00:19:31] You'd have tried to give me a.
[00:19:32] House six months ago.
[00:19:33] I'd be like, what you want?
What do I got? What do I got to do for this?
What you need, you give a large donation.
[00:19:40] I'm be like, what, you want to lead or something?
You want to preach what you want?
[00:19:46] Because I've been conditioned to think that.
[00:19:49] Giving comes with attachments.
[00:19:52] Amen.
[00:19:53] And we got to let go of those conditions.
You got to stop thinking. When Patty gave his message today about tithes and offering, well, we're going to start charging coffee for the coffee because it is an expense and new people are gonna get free coffee. Some of you gonna get mad and say, well, I'm just gonna buy Zorapis. Well, go buy your watered down milky coffee.
[00:20:17] Just because you don't want to give here, you can't force me to give. No, no, that's a heart condition.
[00:20:25] If you would rather buy coffee from somewhere else.
If we made coffee, coffee free again.
[00:20:32] Would you get it here?
[00:20:34] If you said yes, then the reality.
[00:20:36] Is the issue's with you.
[00:20:38] If we made coffee free again, you still saying no? Then the issue's with me.
John says, the war is in us.
The fight of faith is in us. God has turned the you are overcoming with the name of Jesus. The fight is in us. Our thoughts, our feelings, our wills and emotions. It's in us. So if when somebody starts getting up and asking for money in church and the first thing you do here, they go talking about money again. No, you're thinking about the last Time you gave.
That's not cheerful, giving.
We need to get to a place where we're not afraid. That life that we can dare to dream again and dare to believe again. Because I gotta remind you, the lid is off.
When Jesus died on the cross, he took the lid the human condition, he took the lid off the jar and and we're able to jump again as high as we want to. And all things are possible to them that believe.
Amen.
There is no more condition that is keeping us down. When Jesus died on the cross, rose again, went to heaven and sent us the Holy Spirit. The lid is off. We just gotta learn how to jump again.
Amen.
We gotta learn how to believe again.
You know when somebody radically believes, we're like, yeah, we'll see.
Come hang out with me for a week.
[00:22:00] You'll see.
[00:22:02] You're going to see how you believe and you're going to see how you have to believe to lead a church.
[00:22:08] Amen.
[00:22:12] Thank you Jesus.
[00:22:14] But what we have to do is stop copying. In Romans 12:2 we got to stop copying the behaviors and customs of this world. But let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.
Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
In another version it says, renew your mind by the word of God.
[00:22:39] Amen.
[00:22:40] Transform by the Word of God. Change your thinking by what the Word says. Respond with the word.
You know when I can't stand people that respond with the word.
[00:22:52] Now reference what I'm saying.
Do you know when I can't stand people that respond with the word? See, I'm angry and I'm mad and.
[00:23:02] I'm hurt and I want some sympathy.
[00:23:04] And I call you up and I.
[00:23:06] Want you to agree with me. Tell me I'm right and I should go. Punch them in the throat and you'll tell me the word. That ain't what I want to hear.
Tell me to punch them in the throat.
Tell me I'm right to be mad. Tell me it's all good to slap and get the spirit to slap over me and slap em in the face.
That's what I wanna hear. And when you give me the Word, the Word is contradicting my flesh and the Word is opposite to what I want. The Word is what God wants.
We don't just recite the Word to recite the Word, we recite the Word so that we don't act out in the flesh.
[00:23:45] Amen.
[00:23:46] Try again.
God's way. Cause the world has made your Mouth loose.
Listen, I know you can get up in the morning and flippity flopping son of a biscuit because of the day.
[00:23:59] You're about to have. Do y'all know what I'm talking about?
Some of y'all said, pastor, you shouldn't put those thoughts in our heads.
Oh. Cause you're so pure when I know you talked about somebody this week without even knowing it.
[00:24:13] I've been working on my language. Not because I want to stop. I've been working on it because it's shaping my heart.
I've been working on negativity and not allowing negativity because it's stressing me out.
[00:24:29] Amen.
[00:24:30] The Bible says be anxious for nothing. And I'm like, there's plenty to be anxious about, so what do I do?
It's not that they won't be something to be anxious about, guys.
We gotta lean on the word of God with what is trying to make us anxious.
[00:24:46] Amen.
[00:24:47] Try it God's way.
[00:24:50] Am I making sense here this morning?
[00:24:52] So don't copy the world's way. Copy God's way. God wants to rewire your thinking.
He wants less reactions and more responses of faith.
[00:25:03] Amen.
[00:25:04] How many times you get that phone call on your phone?
[00:25:06] Maybe it's just me, but.
[00:25:08] But you get that phone call on your phone and you're like, what they want?
[00:25:15] Anybody?
Anybody.
[00:25:17] Y' all don't want to clap because.
[00:25:18] You don't want to be seen, Raise your hand.
How many people get that phone call?
[00:25:22] And you like what they want?
[00:25:24] They want me to work. They want some money.
[00:25:26] They want to complain again.
[00:25:28] They want something.
I start answering the phone to those people and go, yeah, what you want?
Ain't wasting time with formalities. Yeah, what you want?
[00:25:37] What you need?
[00:25:40] Boy, at least get past the, hey, how you doing? How's your mom and them?
[00:25:44] Okay.
[00:25:44] What you need?
That's a heart condition in me.
I don't know if they want something. I just assume that the past hundred times they wanted something, and this time they're going to want something, too.
But I'm not answering the phone with grace or joy or love in my heart. I'm answering it with resent and not in the.
Do you understand what I'm saying?
You have allowed people to condition you by their actions. You're not responsible for how people treat you. You're responsible for how you treat them.
Try again.
You can have somebody you hate at work.
[00:26:26] Amen.
[00:26:27] They might be sitting in here.
[00:26:31] Amen.
[00:26:33] And every word that comes out of their Mouth just makes you angry. Try again.
That is not God's heart. Try again.
Every time they call, try again until your heart condition changes. You are not understanding the try that I'm talking about.
The posture that we need to get into this morning is, we tried it man's way.
[00:26:57] We need to try it God's way.
[00:27:00] Amen.
[00:27:02] God wants to grow you, strengthen you.
[00:27:05] Ground you, and now it's time to rise, get out of the place you're sitting in.
[00:27:11] My wife often says to me, when I'm having a good old little pity party, anybody know how to throw a.
[00:27:15] Good old pity party?
I call Patty sometimes to throw a pity party and go on a walk. He's moving now, so I guess we don't have to go through that anymore.
[00:27:23] But I know how to throw a good pity party. Oh, woe is me. Anybody know how to throw one?
[00:27:28] Yeah, we're being honest.
You gotta unlearn that because your pity party is not gonna turn out the way you want anymore.
You got to learn that pity is for those that have no faith.
Sympathy are for those that have given up.
[00:27:48] But for those of you that believe.
[00:27:50] Feel, grow, mature, and move on to greater things in Christ.
[00:27:55] Amen.
[00:27:56] Let me give you an example. One of the most powerful stories that I found again in the Bible is in second Samuel 6.
David, now king, had a dream in his heart to bring the arp of the covenant to the physical symbol of God's presence back to Jerusalem. And it had God's presence. It wasn't just a symbol.
It was a beautiful vision. But David went about it the wrong way.
Let's read together. In Samuel 6, it says, David was angry because the Lord's anger had burst out. Now look at this. This is what happened. Take that down for a second. I got to get you ahead of me.
[00:28:28] Take down.
[00:28:31] All right.
[00:28:31] Instead of following God's instructions, he used.
[00:28:34] A cart to pull the oxen.
That was how the Philistines, the non believers, did it. That's how they stowed it.
[00:28:41] And for a moment it seemed like.
[00:28:42] It was working until the oxen stumbled and a man named Uzzah reached out.
[00:28:46] To steady the ark and was struck dead.
[00:28:49] Now, if we look at 2nd Samuel 6, 8 said David was angry because.
[00:28:53] The Lord's anger burst out against Uzzah.
He named that place Prerez Uzzah, which means the burst out against Uzzah, as it is still called today. And David was now afraid of the Lord.
And he asked, how can I ever.
[00:29:11] Bring the ark of the Lord back Into my care.
[00:29:15] Do you see David's heart posture?
How can I bring it back into my care? That's like saying, lord, I'm so sorry I let you down. Lord, I've messed up.
[00:29:28] So.
[00:29:28] Anybody ever said that? Lord, I'm so.
[00:29:30] Don't raise your hand because I'm about to rebuke that if you did. I was looking this way, so I didn't see you.
[00:29:36] Lord, I'm so sorry I let you down. Lord, I'm so sorry I messed up. Can I ask you a question?
[00:29:42] When were you ever holding God up?
[00:29:47] You can't let God down because you are not his strength.
You can't let God down because there's no mess he can't fix.
So stop saying, lord, I'm sorry I let you down. Stop. Start saying, lord, what do I do next?
[00:30:03] Amen.
Amen.
[00:30:06] So David was devastated.
[00:30:08] The celebration stopped.
[00:30:09] The dream paused. Imagine everybody's dancing.
[00:30:12] I mean, David hadn't even got silly yet. He was just dancing halfway, you know, not like the rest of the story.
[00:30:18] And he hadn't even got. But it just came to a halt. Everything stopped. You ever been moving forward with God and it just seemed like nothing's working anymore, and you're just like God. Am I in the wrong place, doing the wrong thing, connected to the wrong people?
[00:30:36] Let me tell you something. Stop blaming me for all your problems, all right?
[00:30:40] Am I.
[00:30:41] Should I be.
[00:30:43] Come up with a name.
I don't have a name.
[00:30:47] Should I be at this other church? Should I be at this church? Should I stay at World Changers? We always look into change where we're sitting instead of changing the posture of our heart.
That's the problem, that you can go from church to church to church to church and have pastor to pastor to pastor to pastor and friend to friend to friend. And if you never change your heart, the same problem follows you everywhere you go.
Everywhere I go? This happens in every church I go to. Well, maybe you're the problem.
Maybe there's something that God wants to correct in you.
[00:31:19] Amen.
[00:31:20] David was devastated. Can you relate?
You are passionate. You started strong. Then something went wrong and fear crept in.
Shame whispered, maybe it's not. Maybe it's not gonna come to pass.
Maybe I was foolish. Maybe it wasn't meant to be. And as shame gets real loud and guilt gets real loud, you'll probably start saying, is this even real?
Is there really a God?
[00:31:48] No. None of y' all ever gotten that low, right?
Stuff that you'll never say out loud in public. So I'M going to help say it for you.
[00:31:58] If you let this get ahold of.
[00:31:59] You so much, you'll even doubt God's existence.
But then God will come in and remind you of all the good that he's done.
God will send people to you to remind you to gather, to get the sword of Goliath and carry around like a champion the wars you've won in the past.
But you gotta change what you're looking at. You gotta change what you're thinking.
[00:32:24] You got to stop feeling and start having faith now. Pastors, that mean feelings are wrong. No, that means feelings is all you got anymore.
[00:32:34] And you're in line and set up for offense.
And the enemy will use you to offend others. It's time to let your feelings process themselves out with the right faith and the right word of God and mature yourself in his word. Is this good?
[00:32:52] Amen.
[00:32:54] Oh, thank you, Jesus.
But see, here's what happened.
[00:32:59] God didn't give up on David, and David's not.
And if God didn't give up on David, David didn't.
God isn't. God's not gonna give up on you.
[00:33:09] Amen.
[00:33:11] Think about this. For three months, David watched from a distance God's presence bless the house of the ark that remained. Now, Obedidom's house was so blessed. You know, there's them Christians that remind.
[00:33:22] You how blessed they are, and they.
[00:33:23] Never had any trouble.
[00:33:25] I'm like, well, what's wrong with me?
You know what I'm talking about?
[00:33:29] No. None of y' all have ever been through that.
[00:33:31] Come on, y' all. Where y' all. Y' all got your super saint shirts on right now? Have you not had stupid trouble in your life? Raise your hand.
Amen. And have you not had trouble in your life?
Have you been talked about, backstabbed, robbed, cheated, hurt? You've been through something.
[00:33:49] Amen.
[00:33:51] It's all perception.
Some people will look at that trouble and go, I know God's with me. They'll take communion over it. They'll pray, they'll overcome it with the word of God and with faith.
[00:34:02] And it'll be like nothing ever happened. And they'll continue looking blessed.
[00:34:05] It's because they didn't air out their.
[00:34:07] Dirty laundry on Facebook.
[00:34:08] They didn't post it on Instagram. They didn't create a TikTok on how hurt people.
They didn't put it all out there for everybody to see. They handled it with God. They handled it with confident believers. They went to counselors. They got through that fight with faith. It's not that they didn't have trouble. They got through it with faith in the word of God.
We're looking at people and the way they talk and they're just like, oh, they. That's just another Christian cliche. I just can't stand when somebody says that.
Well, maybe there's something wrong with your thinking.
[00:34:38] I mean, I'm one to talk.
[00:34:40] I'm pot calling kettle black. But praise the Lord, God's working on me too.
[00:34:44] Amen.
[00:34:47] Paul's doesn't mean permanent just because someone else looks more blessed than you. You gotta realize you're blessed right where you are.
[00:34:56] Amen.
[00:34:57] You're blessed in your mess.
[00:34:58] Do you realize that?
[00:35:00] Do you know that God's working on your behalf even though it doesn't look like it?
[00:35:05] Amen.
[00:35:06] I'm believing for houses, houses you never.
[00:35:09] Built and cars you never bought and.
[00:35:10] Wells you never done. I believe. I prophesy over your life right now.
[00:35:13] Good is about to hit your life. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
Two of you received it.
[00:35:19] Three of you received it. I believe. I believe that God has.
He has assigned blessings to your life and they are waiting at the door for you. You just need to believe right now. In Jesus name, do you believe? Say I believe.
Okay, we had five people. Do you believe? Say I believe.
How many of you actually believe? Say I believe.
[00:35:45] I want to talk to those that were reluctant in shouting that. I'm not going to rebuke you, but.
[00:35:50] I know what it feels like.
[00:35:54] When everybody else is shouting, when everybody else is clapping and you don't feel a thing.
[00:36:02] When everybody else is worshiping, everybody else is praying and you don't feel a thing.
I know what it's like when the preaching is good and you don't feel a thing.
I know what it's like to walk out of church feeling just as empty as you came in because you didn't feel a thing.
[00:36:20] Sometimes you gotta take the lid off your cup and let God pour into you.
Sometimes exactly what you need is words of faith.
[00:36:29] Sometimes exactly what you need is a dose of hope.
[00:36:32] And all those things you've tried before as endorphins or adrenaline, maybe try them with the way you live.
No matter how much hell is breaking loose in your life, no matter what is going wrong, you're going to believe again.
2nd Samuel 6:12. David began to believe again.
Then King David was told, the Lord has blessed Obedidom's household and everything he has because of the ark of God. So David went there and brought the Ark of God to the house of Obedem, to the city of David.
[00:37:10] With great celebration, David decided, yeah, I.
[00:37:16] Tried and it got a man killed. Yeah, I tried and I did it my way. Yeah, I put it out there. I took it from the Philistines. We were celebrating about what we had done, but we haven't celebrated what God has done.
And so I went to Obedidom's house and I said, we're gonna do this again.
[00:37:36] Obedidum's response wasn't, no, you can't take this from me. Obedidum says, as long as you let me be the doorkeeper in that house, as long as you let me stay.
David even said, our doorkeep your house, long as the presence of God is with me. Can I tell you something? After the cross, you don't have to perform.
You don't have to carry on the.
[00:37:57] Coats and backs of priests.
[00:37:58] You have a high priest named Jesus and you have the presence of God. Because you know what the ark of the covenant is now. It's not a box sitting behind curtains. It's not something positioned somewhere else. He said, I will make you living covenants. I will make you living ark. You are the ark of the covenant. Because in you see, he said he made a promise. Listen to this. If you've never heard, if you haven't heard anything I've said all day. He said, I will take it the law from stony tablets and I will write it on their hearts. I will take the royal priesthood and, and I will place it on them. And I will take my spirit that came in manna and I will put it in them. So what are you?
You are walking arks of the Covenant.
And wherever you go, there is blessing.
Whatever you touch is blessed. But you gotta believe it.
See, the enemy wants to come in and tell you you're nothing. The enemy wants to come in and tell you you can't. The enemy wants to come in and tell you that you failed. The enemy wants to come in and say, you'll never get it right. The church isn't big enough. You preach like you should be in stadiums. But why are you preaching in a little hole in a run? Because I ain't trying to be in a stadium. I'm trying to get one heart changed at a time to see Jesus. I don't have the personal ambitions to be great. I want him to be great.
[00:39:18] Amen.
[00:39:20] You can try again, but because this time you need to know that you know who you are. You need to know that you know whose you are. You need to know you're in right standing with God and that God has placed everything in you. I shall apply all your needs according to my riches and glory. I can do all things through Christ Jesus. That strengthens me. Oh, if I believe, all things are possible. My goodness. When you begin to get the Word elevated in you, when you stop listening to trash and everything else, when you really, really, really, really believe in it doesn't matter if the devil's growling in your ear, you're still believing God. It doesn't matter if cancer is professed over you. It doesn't matter what's been professed over you. You're saying, I'm going to live and profess the works of the Lord.
Well, my marriage is falling apart. Well, let God take hold of your marriage. And you sit down and shut up for a while. Praise God. Well, my job is failing. Well, you let God work for you while he works on you.
[00:40:18] Amen.
[00:40:19] Do it God's way.
Do it God's way.
You've been trying too hard.
[00:40:31] Amen.
[00:40:34] First Corinthians Chronicles 15:13 says.
[00:40:40] Because you.
[00:40:41] Levites, are not carrying the ark the first time, the anger of our Lord God burst out against us.
We failed to ask God how to move it properly.
He didn't try it with pride.
He didn't try again with humility or hunger.
This time he did it with the presence of God, full of joy, music and dancing.
What failed before will flourish now.
Because David chose to try it again.
[00:41:15] Will you.
[00:41:18] Try again with God? Trying again doesn't mean pretending past it didn't hurt.
We got too much pretending.
Hear me, church. The world is sick of your pretending.
They want a me too. I need God too. I failed too.
I had to get up too. I believed and I prayed, and it took a long time too.
They're tired of the fake cliches that you don't even believe yourself. They want to hear the faith in your voice. And that comes with a smile. It comes with passion. It comes with desire.
It's not just words.
Proverbs 24:16. The godly may trip seven times, but they will get up again.
But one disaster is enough to overthrow the wicked.
[00:42:07] Look at that. If God before me, who can be against me?
[00:42:12] One disaster can overthrow the wicked.
[00:42:14] But I will never be overcome because.
[00:42:17] God is with me.
You're not stuck.
[00:42:20] You're not finished. You're being set up for a comeback.
You're being set up for a restart, a resurrection. You got to look past your past and look at how Long God's going to last. Amen.
This time it will be different.
[00:42:34] What if David had never tried again?
He would have missed the blessing, missed the presence, missed the moment that shaped generations.
[00:42:41] But he didn't quit.
He got back up.
[00:42:45] And so can you.
[00:42:46] Ephesians 3:20.
[00:42:51] Now all glory.
I, I, I. All day long, I, I got to do this, I need to do this.
[00:43:03] I need to pray.
[00:43:04] This, I need to fast. This, I need to. You, you need to stop looking for glory.
I prayed with them and they were healed. I prayed with them and they weren't healed, so they didn't have enough faith. I prayed with them and, and they, and they, and their, their bank account increased.
[00:43:17] I stayed with them, I prayed with them, and they still lost their job. I prayed with them. I prayed.
We worship ourselves more than we do God.
We need to give all glory to.
[00:43:30] God, who is able, through his mighty.
[00:43:32] Power, to work within us to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.
[00:43:39] Someone outside said to me, in summary, only believe, give it to God. Make your petition zone and give thanks because you know God has done it. And get up every day knowing God has done it.
Take communion that God has done it. Fast, knowing that God has done it. Pray knowing that God has done it. Declare God has done it. Confess God has done it.
[00:44:00] Because if we believe, all things are possible.
[00:44:06] The business idea, try again.
The calling you shelved, try again.
The prayer you gave up on, try again.
[00:44:17] The healing you stopped believing for, try again.
[00:44:20] The version of you that you gave up on, try again.
Nahum 1 and 13 says, Now I will break the yoke of bondage from your neck.
All those things, the business, the calling, the relationship, the dream, the prayer, have to be put in God's hands because.
[00:44:40] He is the one that can, will.
[00:44:42] And has done it.
[00:44:44] Amen.
[00:44:45] The lid is off, the limits are gone. The way is open.
God is calling you not to just believe again, but to move again. To try again, but most importantly, to live again.
So rise up, barrier breakers.
Rise up, world changers.
Rise up and dance like David, Dream again like Joseph, build again like Nehemiah. You were born for more. And the next step is now. Try again.
This time, do it with God.
You're afraid, you're angry, you don't trust anybody.
Christians keep showing you their dark side.
They're human, they're growing.
They're not there yet.
Until they reach glory, they're not going to be perfect. You need to stop judging them and criticizing them.
Your pastors, they're doing their best.
Your Friends are doing their best. Your wives and husbands are doing their best. Your work colleagues are doing their best. They're doing what they know how to do. And we are the light in all those situations.
We have to rise up above how we feel.
And the only way to deal with how you feel is to talk to somebody and let them pray with you. Get counsel. Don't just bury it down with fake freely Christianity. Talk about it.
Tell people that you trust.
I need you to come in agreement. Because one touching any one thing, it shall be done.
There is no end to God's love.
And where love is present, miracles happen.
[00:46:36] Amen.
[00:46:38] But if you say you've never been afraid or you have no fear, you're lying.
You just learned how to cancel it, you've learned how to remove it. What you need to say, and I'll say this so you can understand that I didn't just call you a liar.
If you were easily offended, forgive me.
What you've learned to do is take every thought captive. That when you got afraid, you canceled it with the word of God.
That when you got angry, you canceled it with the word of God. That when you got jealous, you canceled it with the word of God.
It's not that you're without fear or without the opportunity to be anxious or offense. It's that you've learned how to apply the word of God to those situations. And you're no longer stopping and saying, I'm offended at that. That was rude. You're saying, I'm giving that to God. The reason that you are moving forward so gracefully is cause you've learned how to dance with the Holy Spirit. The reason that you're able to keep going. And the reason that some people look like they're just faking it and maybe they really aren't. Maybe they actually believe what they say. Maybe their life is just that good. And the reason that you're jealous and angry and saying it just don't work for me is is because you actually in your heart are not allowing it to take root and believe it.
[00:47:55] Amen.
[00:47:57] I'm not condemning you.
I'm not rebuking you. I'm saying it's time to mature in faith, to realize the favor that we have and allow God to lead you. Now, I promise you, next week we're gonna have some fun. We're gonna have a message called Don't Touch. Don't touch it. What's that MC Hammer song? Na na na na na na na can't touch this. Na na na na I can't do the dance.
[00:48:19] Anybody can do the dance.
[00:48:20] Y' all get up and do it. Amen. But we're going to talk about the.
[00:48:22] Fight that's not yours.
[00:48:25] We're going to talk about the struggle.
[00:48:27] That you didn't need to attend to. And sometimes when people talk about you.
[00:48:30] Let them keep talking because maybe you.
[00:48:34] Don'T need to respond to that.
The only voice you need to hear.
[00:48:39] Today is the call of God over your life to get up.
Try again.
Every head bowed, every eye closed.
I pray for honest people in the house.
Now, if you don't raise your hand, it's not that I'm expecting you to, and if you don't raise your hand, I'm expecting that you have matured to a place of faith and you're gonna pray for those that do raise their hand.
But if you're here today and you're.
[00:49:05] Saying, you know what?
[00:49:06] I did kind of sit back and comfortable. I did kind of just start attending. I did just kind of. I just didn't really put myself out there because I didn't want to get hurt anymore. If that's you, can you raise your hand?
Thank you. Thank you for the hands. Thank you for the hands. Thank you for the hands.
Thank you for the hands.
You're here today, and you know that you're cold, but you feel like you've messed up too much to actually operate. For God. Can you raise your hand?
Messed up may mean different to you. Thank you for the hands. Thank you for the hands.
Thank you for the hands.
You're here today.
We're going to deal with all this right now in just a few moments. We're not going to live with it. We're going to give it to God.
And somebody's hurt you in church.
It's hard to be in church.
If that's you, raise your hand.
Thank you for the hand. Hands.
Amen.
Amen. I'm asking for two men to come forward. And it's going to be different than the men I normally ask for because I want Jeremy and Paddy and Claire and Tina to go through the crowd. But I'm going to ask Tony and Nik if you guys would come forward. One of you over here, one over here. I didn't prepare. I'm just following the Holy Spirit. Could you. You come just right here. And Tony, could you come here?
If your wives are here, bring them with you.
Just here and here.
Tracy, could you come? Just be here.
Paddy, Claire, Tina, Jeremy, I want you to go through the crowd in just a moment. But if you could please stand.
If you need personal prayer, you need your faith built.
I want you to come forward, let these two people. Let these people pray for you. If that's you right now, step out in faith and say, I want to receive prayer if that's you.
It's a bold move, but it's a change. You're believing for that business. You're believing for your marriage.
Amen. Thank you, brother.
Thank you, brother.
Would you pray with him?
Anybody else, before we go into prayer with the rest of the body? Anybody want to step forward?
Come on, if you're coming.
Tina, if you could come here, y' all together?
Yeah. Okay.
Paddy, Claire, if y' all could come, we got another spot over here. If you need prayer, we're just gonna tell you for a second and then we're gonna go into corporate prayer. If you need prayer, we just want you to pray.
Thank you, brother. Amen. Come on, give the Lord a hand clap of praise.
Amen.
Father, we thank you as those that need prayer continue to come forward.
Can you lay hands on somebody next to you?
Can you pray for your neighbor? You know, pray for Lisa? They're joining together. They're coming together.
Father, we thank you for this faith that's being established today. This I will not quit faith.
This I will not give in faith. This it always seems hard, Lord, but I know there's a way through. There's light at the end of the tunnel. I will keep trying. I will keep going. But this time I will do something different.
I will rest and relax in you. I will trust you. I will love you. I will lean on you. I will be comforted by you.
And it's in Jesus name, Lord, we thank you, Lord. We live for you, Lord. We lift up our voice to you. We know that all things are good.
You will exceed our thoughts more than we could ask or think. You exceed and overflow and put our heart in abundance.
So, Lord, today I believe I am saved.
[00:53:41] I believe that I have your holy spirit. I believe that I'm called, anointed and appointed. I believe that even though I'm not qualified, that you qualify me. Lord, I believe I may not have the credentials, but you give me all that I need.
I may have messed up in the.
[00:53:58] Past, but I don't live there anymore.
[00:54:00] I have all that I need.
[00:54:01] I am all. Because you are in me.
You are with me. It's in Jesus name I pray and we all say amen.
[00:54:09] Come on, give the Lord a hand clap of praise.
