[00:00:00] Welcome to the World Changers Church Gold Coast podcast. Join us as we listen to today's message.
[00:00:06] Thank you. Perfect. Oh, my goodness.
I have to just move it this side a little bit. Sorry.
Take my lid off because I've got a dry mouth this morning. I'm not sure if it's from the steak or the nerves, but hey, ho, last night, do you know God put this on my heart heavy a couple of weeks ago and I've been walking it out for a couple of weeks. What we're gonna-the message today. And I said to him, if you are gonna make me do this, you better set an atmosphere.
And did he just not set an atmosphere? You know, if you ask God, you know, he's listening and that. Who's got fire in their stomach right now?
Who's got this quickening in their spirit right now that I've got. Who's got this burden to be better in Christ that I've got? And this is what today's about. This is what today is about, this message. And it is laid so heavy on me, but equally in a really beautiful way because it's time. Everybody's saying, it's time, church. It's time. It's time, church. And I get so, I'll go into that in a minute. I get so fervent and bold about this subject because I deal with it day in, day out in my job, Christians walking or not walking out their freedom. And this is what we're going to be talking about today, what God showed me before I came up, which isn't on my notes, it's about Clare. He said, tell them. A lot of people leave church on a Sunday, often in condemnation, thinking, I just can't live up to what that pastor said. I'm not doing what he has said. You know, we stand on Sundays. This altar is about showing you God's best for you, showing you the expectation of exactly what you could be living out right. This isn't here saying it's all right if we're not doing it right. You know, this is Sunday church. The speakers are anointed and we are. They put it, God puts it on our heart to say this is the best he has for you. And then people, so many times as pastors and therapists, they say, but I just leave feeling awful because I can't do that. But I, he says, tell them it's not about, are you living about what we're about to say, about what we've preached all the time. It's about working out the gap in between, how you can live that? Leave, fervent. Leave determined that, Yeah, I'm not there yet, but if God's got that for me, I'm going to get there. You know, don't let the enemy in your church condemn you before you've even left through the doors. Not going to happen in this church because as Pastor Kyle said, there is a works going on in this church in every single one of us. And this is what it's about. So there will be no condemnation leaving this church today.
Okay, so we've had some amazing series, haven't we? We've had the unbroken, we've had faith in the middle, faith in transition, faith in the battle.
Amazing. Amazing. Now, faith. What is faith? Trust, belief and confidence in God and what he's done. Right. That's faith and walking that out, a gift from God. That's trust and confidence in what he's done. Okay? And I have wanted to change my preach for about three weeks. I want to preach on the amazing grace of God. I want to preach on the love of God. I want to preach on the finished work of the cross. I want to preach on the lovely stuff. That's about what he's done. But we know what he's done. Right. And we're going to go into that. But today's message is about what you need to do.
Yeah. It's about what you need to stand in so that what he's done glorifies him on earth through you. What do you need to do? What do you need to be accountable for?
And that's why I think I'm a little bit more nervous today than I usually am, because my husband will tell you I'm brutal as far as when he's going through stuff, I'm like, here's a bridge. Get over it and figure out how to do it really quick. You know, like, sort it out. Now, I'm not a fluffy. I don't beat around the bush. And so that's why I was nervous about today because I tend to get, if I start doing this, and it's because I'm so passionate about the walk you deserve in Christ, you know? And if this isn't for you because you're doing it well, then it will be for the atmosphere you take out to the world. Okay? This needs it. We need to stand firm. This is what we need right now as a church. So are you ready? Do I have your permission?
Yeah.
Okay.
Yes.
So what I get passionate about a lot of the time is those souls out there, you know, if you go out to the world, don't know about you, but this morning I've been reset. I'm ready. I can go out now, seven days out to the world, and I can take on the enemy because, whatever. Try what you want, but we're here on a Sunday. They're not some lost souls out there are not here. They might be searching, but they might not want to come near church because they're looking at us going, why would I.
Why would I go to church? They're depressed, they're poor, they're broke, they're ill. Why would I.
Are we glorifying God? Because if we were, this building wouldn't be big enough, for starters. And they would be queuing at the door trying to get in. They would be running towards us if we were doing this right. So that is what today's about.
What are we standing in? Okay.
Who had a hero in their childhood, like a real hero that you just wanted to become like?
Because I didn't. I really struggled. I didn't. Like, I didn't ever look at someone and go, that's who I want to be. That's who I'm going to follow. That's because most people in my life just let me down a bit, you know? It's just a bit like, I don't want to be like that. When I was 38 years old and I realized that Jesus had gone to the cross, rose, given me DNA to do life, set me free, redeemed me, bought me. He became my hero. I can't believe no one had told me I was 38 years old. It could have been so much easier. But that hero is where I stand now. That hero and what he's done. What he has done is unbelievable. And I think we know what he's done, right? We know what he's done. Okay. So when you're, this message is about standing firm, okay? Standing firm in what he's done, then we've got to grasp that. And I think, like we've said, we know standing firm is good. But standing firm when it's all well and good in life is one thing. When the hurdles come, I just see people fall like flies and doubt God, get frustrated with God.
Give enemy a lot of credit. Oh, I'm being attacked. I'm being attacked. This is not good. I'm being attacked. This is not good. But where are they standing when that happens? You know? We've got choice. We've got real choice. And God's conviction to me was, you have to, we have to start speaking about. This world is not getting any easier. If you're struggling now, we're gonna. We're gonna struggle more. This world is getting darker and darker, and the enemy is on borrowed time. So he. He is gonna go for everyone and everything, especially the thriving christians. Right? But listen to this. We were given an instruction manual and a warning manual in the Bible.
It's an instruction manual and a warning Bible. Listen, in James 1:6-8, is that coming up?
But let him ask, in faith, nothing wavering. For he who doubts is like the wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. For that person ought not to expect that he will receive anything from the Lord. Being double minded and unstable. How many times do we hear, my prayers just aren't being answered?
I'm just not receiving. I'm just not. It's just not happening for me. It says in the Bible, unstable, wavering, doubting. You know, this is what happens when the attacks come, right? So it warns us in there, they ought not to receive anything from the Lord or not to expect to. And then in revelation, I know your deeds. They are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other. So because you are lukewarm, neither hot nor cold, I'm about to spit you out of my mouth.
How many hot and cold Christians. Lukewarm Christians, do we know? He's even saying in this scripture, be one or the other. At least decide, you know, just like, be committed to not believing in me or believe in me and be really believing in me, but decide one of them, because in the middle, it's not okay. Christianity is turned into lukewarm. Luke, lukewarm. It's like this fluffy thing going on where people decide when it's all good, praise God, the blessings. When it's bad, it's like, I don't know what this God's doing in my life. It's like. But the word, what he's done, what he's shown you, you know, suffering, this world and suffering. If you look at Buddhism, you look at any religion, you look at any philosophy, suffering is not new. They may have weird beliefs about why suffering shows up, but suffering is something that every movie, every movie I watch anyway, we're Avengers fans and superheroes, Harry Potter, Spider man, all of them. What is it? Darkness versus evil, good versus evil.
It's not new to us that suffering is what we will show up in this world. Right? That's fact. And in the last days, it's not going to get much better. And that's what God keeps saying to me all this week, stand firm. Stand firm. It's time to stand firm. Cannot waver anymore. It's time to stand firm. It's time to stand firm. He showed me this scripture. He showed me a few, but this is this one. Oh, God, it hit my heart. 2 Timothy 3:1-5.
"But mark this, there will be terrible times in the last days." Sounds morbid, doesn't it? It's going to lift up in a minute. Don't worry, people. "People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money. Boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy without love, unforgiving, slanderous without self control." Brutal. Not lovers of good. Which means they're lovers of what? Bad?
Having a form of godliness but denying its power have nothing to do with such people. Now, that's not what we're going to preach in itself. But the point is, do you see that around you in the world? Boastful, slandering, prideful. All of those things, again, shows you in the Bible, by the way, that's going to happen. So can we stop being surprised when it happens? Yeah, like, oh, you'll never guess what she said to me. Yep. Okay. That's okay, because it says in the Bible it's going to happen. People are going to attack you, they're going to offend you, they're going to go for the jugular. That's what's going to happen. I find it amazing it's written in the Bible. But us Christians often are surprised when the attack comes at us through people being slanderous and offensive. That's what's going to happen. In Matthew 24, Jesus warns of false prophets, wars, famines, earthquakes. In Luke 21, Jesus warns of nations of turmoil, earthquakes, famines. See it going on. Revelation. This passage describes a great tribulation for the church as Satan will wage war against God's people.
I mean, it can't be more clear that we've got a battle going on, right?
And we know that. But what we're finding is we are wavering and doubting and becoming unstable, and we're becoming very Satan focused. Too Satan focused. Be conscious of what he's doing, but know the victory's been won. We've got to know the victory has been won. You're not fighting the thing with Avengers and the, the Spider Man and all of the Iron Man and everything. Well, they're still trying to win the battle. We've won the battle. All we need to do is stand in what's been done, but most of us are busy, like, come on then, bring it on. And like fighting people, we don't need to fight. We need to stand. Not anywhere in the Bible does it say, go and fight back or attack with your fists or with your mouth or with. It's not that. It's about standing firm in what has already been done.
And today we're looking at two concepts of how we stand firm. Two very, very important concepts. The power of your position and the power of your delegated authority. And with those two, we will be just soaking in the glory of God. Attracted. And I think this is what Pastor Kyle talks about when we get this stuff, my goodness, this church is going to, phew. Because this is why we're preached on unbrokenness and faith and things like this, because you guys are ready to receive it. You know, some people would have already walked out in other churches. I think it's an accountable thing on our part. So let's have a look at this main scripture, Ephesians. Have you got your bibles?
Ephesians 6:10-19.
So finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. This is the main scripture that we're going to look at today. Put on the full armour of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. Take your stand against the devil's schemes. Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world, and against the spiritual forces of evil and the heavenly realms. Therefore, put on the armor of God so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground. Not fight, not cry, not nag, not moan, but fight. Stand your ground, then stand firm. Then with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes with the gospel of peace. In addition to all of this, take up the shield of faith with which you can extinguish all. Doesn't say a few, and you might miss some. All the flaming arrows from the evil one. And then take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the spirit, which is God's word.
Oh, my goodness. We are going to break this down into position and authority. First of all, we're going to look at the power of position. Okay. How many people here recently have fallen in the trap, me being one of them, of a person offending you, hurting you, doing wrong by you, saying something to you, and our human nature is to jump in and go keep, you know, I do that. I'm a feisty. Am I allowed to say feisty cow? No, I'm feisty. You know, I'm just like, ugh. And that is, that is our natural instinct because we're in the world. We're surrounded by the world. But we're in a fallen world, right?
But fighting back and attacking puts us off stance. It puts us in fight, flight and freeze. It puts us in panic. It puts us in flesh and carnal nature of who we are. And then if we look at this, let's remind ourselves once more, for the struggle is not against flesh and blood. It's not against each other. We can't glorify God if we're busy nagging and moaning to each other all the time, can we? And fight in the world and who they are. There are people out there being used mightily by the enemy and we're falling for it. We just need to stop doing that. We've got to stop doing that.
We've got to stop doing that. 2 Corinthians 10:4. The weapon we fight are not with the weapons of this world. On contrary, they have, they us have divine power to demolish strongholds. And we did that this morning. That was going on, right? That was going on this morning. So I'm going to bring up a slide.
Okay. Here. So we've established that there is a battle, a spiritual battle. And we've established that we have a choice between flesh and we have a choice between spirit. Right?
Now, if an eagle tries to fight a snake on the ground, he's taken down, he'll lose. He will always lose. The snake has agility and strength and pull down and everything it needs on the ground. But if the eagle rises up high, takes him to the battleground of the eagle, it will win every time. It will win every single time. Satan wants you here.
He wants you trying to fight on this earth. He wants you to be of the world, in the world, fighting, going down with depression, exhaustion, fatigue.
Because if he can keep you here, no matter how much war praying you do, you're war praying in flesh. You'll just exhaust yourself. I have seen many people go into a cupboard and war pray and nothing changes. Why is that? Because they're fighting. They're not in spirit. They're fighting. But sometimes you're not positioned correctly. When I lived in London, I was an NLP master. We used a lot of this perceptional positioning to help people to realize where they're at is not good, okay? And I have used it for years to reposition where I'm at as soon as I can get observation in my mind, you need to be able to observe where you're at positioning so that you can say, oh, this isn't good. Okay, but many of us aren't seeing it. So once you know, you can think, hold on. It's not because I'm all messed up. It's not because we all fall short in flesh. Me in flesh. Ask Paddy. Nasty, nasty person. I'm a driven maniac. I go all wrong in flesh. I really do. And many of you might see that. But if I move into spirit, I remember who God says I am, and I remember what he's done for me. And if I move into faith and spirit, oh, my gosh, it's a whole different ballgame. But the difference is you choose this.
You choose this. No one else.
And perceptual positioning, perception is everything in life. Where do you perceive yourself to be? The problem is most people are perceiving. So if you, you could do this exercise at home, it's absolutely brilliant. In fact, I think Joyce Myers did a similar thing. When she said she gets out of bed, she draws a circle in, she steps and then, come on. Then, you know, she's like, she's ready to go. We have to get not angry, because that's the wrong word, but it's this rising up in us to say, no longer are you going to touch my children, my family, my home, my friends. You've got no chance. And I always say, when I'm in with clients, I say, I'll literally sometimes hear the enemy over here somewhere. He'll be trying to give me a thought or something. I'll just be like, you kidding me? Or what? You know, like, you're gonna get in with that, you know? And that's where we need to get to, that we know God and what he's done so well that you're in spirit. And the minute God tries to put Satan tries to pull you out of position, you're like, really? Really? That's just not gonna happen. And the problem is what's happening. And this is where I went back to the beginning. The pre frame is, if we are being pulled into flesh a lot more than we should be, what do we do?
We just work out what's pulling us into flesh and then heal it. Go to a friend, get prayer. But prayer, under the observation of the real problem is where healing happens, not just prayer. Can you pray for me? What for? I don't know. I'm just losing it, you know? No, we've got to know over here.
I'm not in spirit, Claire. Can you please help me? I keep remembering what my dad did to me. And that relationship reminded me, and I was triggered. Can you help me, please? Can we pray into that? I keep crying about this. I keep feeling low about that, and it keeps pulling me into the position of flesh. And then I act out like I know I don't belong.
Okay? Go to the body of Christ. Let's pray. Let's get some help.
Okay.
So it's about observing and noticing perceptually where you are. Where are you positioning yourself? Okay? And that this. This will. This will change. Change everything if this is a problem for you. So in Galatians, throughout the Bible, it says about standing firm. Galatians 5:1. For freedom. For freedom. Christ has set us free. Stand firm, therefore, and do not submit again to the slake, the yoke of slavery.
Stand firm. Don't submit to the yoke of slavery. Colossians 1:23. If you continue in your faith, steadfast and immovable, and do not move away from the hope of the gospel you heard, then it goes on to say, there's good stuff ahead.
2 Thessalonians.
So then, brothers and sisters, stand firm and hold fast to the traditions that have been taught. Then 1 Corinthians, be on your guard. Stand firm. Not anywhere does it say, we call it a battle because we're in the battle. And I think because it's in the songs, it's in the worship. This is how I fight my battle. This is the battle. It was in the song earlier, the battle. So in battle, what automatically do we think? We need to fight.
No, Jesus did that. He's done that. He's done the fight. He descended, he beat the principalities. He rose above all of that. He went and sat at the right hand side of God and said, by the way, guys, I've done it for you. Just stand firm, will you, please? Stand firm, will you, please? And then we're all busy running around fighting. He's already done it. And then, by the way, he gives us a whole scripture on the armour of God. And again, battle armor. You think you need to run towards someone with an arrow, don't you? Like this is the armour of God? No, the armour, guess what, is the good news of the gospel.
That's what our armor is. It's not the going around and giving Satan the credit for misery sometimes, or circumstances. Circumstances are set. We live in a fallen world, and it's not going to get any easier, right? We all understand that. We know we've won the victory and then God gave us the armor to stand firm. I mean, it's simple, isn't it? But is it easy? Not at all. Because you are 100% surrounded by the world, 100% surrounded by the fallenness, 100% if you're out there at work constantly being attacked.
But that's why these messages on a Sunday and these revelations and these encounters are going to just stand you in those positions. So look at the belt of truth. What's the belt of truth? In the Roman times when Apostle Paul was saying about the armour, so you look at the belt in the Roman times when he was talking about what it did, the belt of truth. The belt held everything together. Without the belt, nothing stayed in place, nothing. So until you know the truth of the finished work of the cross, and I mean the death and resurrection, you are forgiven and you are redeemed. And all those things he finished. That's the truth of the gospel, right? And if you haven't got that belt firmly rooted, not in your head, but in your heart, if you haven't got it rooted, nothing will stay together. Because when someone tells you, you know you're forgiven, right, you're right. Standing with God, because that's the breastplate. You'll be like, am I? Does he really think that I'm worth that? I'm not sure. I feel a bit guilty. He didn't know what I did, you know? But if you know the truth, you're like, you're right, I'm right. Standing with God. He saved me. He's forgotten from the east to the west about my past, you know? Now you know the truth. Put the better the buckle on of truth. This is the gospel truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, word. And then the breastplate. What does a breastplate do? It covers the heart and all the vital organs. So you put the breastplate on and that's where we stand in, right. Standing with God. It says, have it in place. You need to know that God has forgiven. God has put you and you are right. Standing with him. You and him in this world together. Right standing. Righteousness of God is ours.
And then the shoes of peace. I love this one. It says, make sure you're fitted with the shoes of peace. What is the one thing that will put all of us into flesh and carnal nature when your peace is stolen? Yeah. And then what happens to our feet? We isolate, we stand still, we start to go into fear. We don't go out spreading the gospel, we don't go out to church. We don't go out to things because we start to get unpeaceful. Unpeace will stop you and shut you down so you won't move anywhere. If you don't buckle in your feet into that peace place. It's got to be in that peace place. And then the shield of faith. Oh, my gosh. I mean, if we're told that this shield will, it will literally shield you from all arrows, all arrows of Satan.
But what happens when you are not in faith? What happens when you're in flesh?
Because it's just positioning. It's not that God's left or forsaken you or he's upset with you, or he's frustrated with you, or he's bringing stuff for you to learn or whatever. It's simply that you've gone out of spirit. Because that's where he walks with us and communes with us into flesh. And now you're in confusion. Now the foothold for the enemy is wide open. And you say, come on in and torment me, please.
That's what you're doing when we're in flesh. Come in and torment me. Or you can say, oh, I remember. No, no, no. I remember what's been done for me. And I'm standing firm in that. I'm putting on the feet, I'm putting on the righteousness, I'm putting on the peace. I'm putting on the salvation. The helmet of salvation. Where's the battleground of Satan? He's not omnipresent. He doesn't know your heart. He doesn't know every hair on your head. He just knows your life here on earth. He's the prince of this world, right? He just knows. He doesn't know everything about you. But what he does do is he'll mess with your mind and it says, the salvation is the helmet. Put the helmet on. Like I said before, look and go. You can't. You can't get in my head. That's not a godly thought. That's not an honourable thought. That's not a thought of love. That is not from my God. But guess what? If you don't know the character of God, and I mean the real character of goddess, you won't know if that's a thought from Satan or not. Because he can show up as the angel. He can show up as good. But you would know if it's God or not, if you really know him in relationship. And then you can just look and go, I don't think so. Not today. Try again tomorrow. Though, see how you go there, you know, just with confidence and boldness, because that's what we're being called to do. I see a separation. It's like, where's my people that have boldness? Where are my people with fire? Where are my people that care if they're in flesh or spirit? Where are they? He's searching.
Okay. What did Jesus. And then, and then we come to the sword of the spirit, the word. So everything so far has been defence, right? It's been defending yourself. This is our offense. This is where we can attack back, but not with our fists and our emotions and our feelings, but with the word of God. Right? What did Jesus do in the wilderness? He was led into the wilderness. And what did he do when he was tempted to turn stones into bread? Jesus responded, "it is written".
Did he run around with flags, crying, like, make a big drama? No, he didn't. He said, it is written. No, I won't. Because it is written. Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes out of the mouth of God. When he was tempted to throw himself off the temple, when tempted to worship Satan in exchange for all kingdoms, Jesus said, get behind me, Satan. For it is written.
The word of God, people, the word of God. We so underestimate it nowadays. I think we've gone into this. Yeah, this is the Bible. Yeah, I'm gonna read my Bible an hour a day. I mean, I've got things on my fridge, my walls, my everything, and you just declare it. But this is where declaring it comes from the heart. If it's just coming from knowledge and doubt and unwavering, this is like if I see Leo, my son, going downhill, starting to get a bit. You can see a child getting heavy and emotional and it's a worldly thing. We go to war, we don't say, leo, you're not good enough. Leo, what you doing? Well, we do sometimes when I'm in flesh, but I know that doesn't work. But then we go into spirit, we go into the enemy. You're not going near my child. Because if he can't get me, who's he going to go for? Paddy? He's going to go for Leo. He's going to go for my friends. He's going to go for my church. No, no. That's why we pray. That's why you set an atmosphere like, we are praying. They spend their lives praying for you guys. We all spend lives praying for you guys. And I hope you do the same for us. But that is the weapon. The weapon is used in declaration, it is written, and the weapon is used in prayer. Okay? Because prayer, God acts on here on earth through prayer.
Just out of interest, how many people in here know you've got authority in Jesus Christ?
Oh, I can finish now.
It's really interesting because a lot of people I talk to don't realize they still think they need to go to a priest for forgiveness or they need to go to, and we're blessed. In this church, the word of God is live. The spirit of God is live. But you know, there's people out there that don't know that they have authority. I see people with the kingdom of heaven in their bag while they ask God to do it.
Yeah, they're like, they're just like, oh, God, please, please. And I remember doing it, and God went, Claire, I've already done it. You do it. Speak to the mountain, Claire. You speak to the mountain. I don't need to speak to the mountain anymore. I sent my only son to the cross for you. Then I gave you the authority to speak to the mountain. And so in Matthew, it says, and Jesus came to them and said, I have all authority that's been given to me in heaven and earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Jesus has been given all authority over every principality, everything.
That's why we pray in Jesus name, because it's done. It's done. In John 14:12., Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works I do and greater works than these he will do. Oh, my gosh. You know, you read about Jesus ministry. Are we doing more than Jesus did here on earth?
I question that. I question, I mean, we might be here. Our church is fine, but we, are we doing greater works than Jesus Christ did in the three years he was here? Because we have the authority to do so.
We do.
That frightens me sometimes. And again, condemnation. No, but that's like, thank you for the conviction, Holy Spirit. I'm on it. I am on it because there is such work to be done. And then in 2 Corinthians 10:4, the weapons we fight are not of the weapons of this world. We read it before. It's we have the authority to bring down the strongholds, divine power to bring down the strongholds. And then in Mark 11:23, this is my most favorite scripture as far as authority goes, is that truly, I tell you, if anyone says to the mountain, be taken up and thrown into the sea, and does not doubt in their heart, but believes, then. Then it will happen. Basically, it will happen. It will be done for them. If you speak to the mountain, but the key is. But believes in their heart, because that's what people are doing. They're not- They haven't got the armor of God on, so they're vulnerable. They're in flesh, offended and upset, and then they start, oh, okay, that's what I've got to do. Speak to the mountain. But now they're angry and in flesh, and nothing is being received. Nothing is happening. And that's what I love about the Christian journey. Walking out your salvation. If you're not receiving the fruit and all the things the Bible says, then something's wrong, right?
Something is not right. It's a journey for all of us. None of us ever arrive this side of heaven. It's a battle for all of us. But what we are supposed to see is the glory of God in our lives.
Acting out, working out. We keep seeing the glory show up. We don't keep seeing the struggle of. Nothing's happening, Claire.
I'm just not. No, nothing's happening in my life. Nothing's changing. No one's getting healed. Nothing's. No miracles, no wonders, no signs.
And that convicts me more than anything in the world, because I want to see more healings in church. I want to see more strongholds brought down, more chains broken. We can do this. But do we believe in our hearts? Have we got the belt of truth on? Have we got the right standing in our hearts? Because too many people are way too knowledgeable about the Bible, but they haven't met the Jesus in their heart that I've met. You know, the guy who went to the cross for me, the guy that died for me, the guy that set me in authority and position to conquer this world that he has overcome. Oh, my God. This just unbelievable. Can you imagine as well? Imagine this? A policeman gets up in the morning, puts on his normal clothes, goes out into the middle of the road, and does this. (Hand up) Cars stop? He's gonna get run over, right? He's gonna get run over because he forgot to put the armor on. He forgot to put his authority on. So what we're seeing out there is people going out, trying to stop the cars, and they don't know who they are. They haven't got the. What happens when a policeman puts the uniform on? I certainly would stop. You know, we stop, right? We stop. But what happens if he doesn't put that uniform on? What happens when a Christian isn't walking in the spirit, nothing happens. The cars won't stop. The cars won't stop. The arrows will come.
And the response, this Mark 1:23.
Just then, a man in their synagogue who was possessed by an impure spirit cried out, what do you want with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are. The holy one of God. Be quiet, said Jesus sternly. Come out of him. The impure spirit shook violently and came out of him with a shrek or a shriek. Shrek?
Maybe it was Shrek, who knows? But with a shriek it came out of him. So Jesus is in the synagogue, and then this impure spirit comes in and he goes, get out.
I mean, the authority of that, you know, and I've been to Oklahoma. I went on a church tour of Oklahoma, and I've got people tied to altars with rope and the incense flying around everywhere and like, get out, get out. These people are traumatized.
It just doesn't need to be that way. Jesus displays to us, what did he do when he's here on earth? What did he do to get rid of impure spirits? What did he do to people? He taught, he preached, he healed, he rebuked, and he declared.
He taught, he healed, he preached, he rebuked, and he declared. It is written. It was a very, very normal process of authority. But unless you're standing in your authority, that's when I find people get emotional and start making themselves emotional about it. And then emotions isn't changing anything. So then we get scared and then we start getting more emotional and nothing's happening still, that then just looks embarrassing because the authority isn't showing up in front of people who are looking for the glory of God. It's not there. You know, that's where it should be, in that authority. Get out. Go over there. Teaching impacting the hearts of people.
Satan's goal in our lives is only to keep you in flesh, to steal the glory of God from your life. If you're already saved in here today, the only thing he wants to do is isolate you, keep you from your fellow Christians, and he wants to keep you in flesh so that you can fight all you want. You can have all the strength you want in the world. You can go to the gym, you can work out, you can even give up your job and then say, right, I've got time now to fight. I've got a lot of energy. But if you're in flesh still, nothing's going to change. Nothing's going to change because you are wrongly positioned and the only place Satan wants is over there. That's why offense and division and depression. And I will spend my life dedicated to restoration ministry. Because the only thing that will keep you in flesh is trauma, hurt, offence, pain and unforgiveness. That's the only thing that will do it. Even our prayers are hindered when we hold unforgiveness, you know. So our prayers are hindered if we're unwavering and double minded and if we're holding unforgiveness. I mean, how many people here hold unforgiveness in their hearts? Think back. Be honest.
That's what we're talking about here. If you let those people go, unforgiveness is just like drinking poison, expecting that person to be hurt.
You might as well just stop now trying.
Because unforgiveness, and that's the point, is that God gives us all of those things. You position in spirit and say, help me with my unforgiveness. God healed.
Healed. Because that's who he is. If you stand spirit to spirit with God, you're healed. It's already done, right? It's not like you have to.
He has to do it for you. He's not up there going, yep, it's your turn to be healed. Brilliant. Yep. Your turn, your turn, your turn. It's us positioning to receive what's already done, using the authority to stand and say, I claim it now. Jesus and I will not walk in unforgiveness anymore. And I will not walk in bitterness. Because of what you've done. Because of what you've done.
All right?
I get so passionate about it and I, and I actually don't know how to land it. But what I do know is I want. I want.
God wants. This was all about conviction. This message. It was all about conviction. It was all about people ready to stand up and say, I'm in. I'm in, God. Who here has the same fire in their stomach to fight the darkness out there as much as they do in here? Who? Who has that? We're too exhausted. I've written here who is exhausted and fatigued in here?
Who's wavering and unstable?
Who is flesh focused? Who's been caught up in all of that stuff where Satan wants you to be?
Because I just think today's a day of change. Today's a day. Do you know what Satan. Which is why I felt so heavy the last few weeks is that he didn't want this message coming out because he knows that we are a church of conviction. You receive it and you felt it and you know it. And the minute you stand up, in a minute when I say if you're ready, if you're ready to stand and say, I am done with my flesh side, I'm done with exhaustion, I'm done with wavering, I am going to find my place in spirit and I am going to be committing once again to being in that. And now you're aware of it. If you may have been before, this may be old news to you guys, but now you're aware of it. Are you ready to position in spirit?
Because that's what we're praying today. We are praying and you do this so much better than me, so you're going to be doing it.
I love the ministering of these to our pastors. You know, how blessed we are to have these pastors in this place. That minister, I'm a bit of a teacher of the word. So I'm like, rah, rah, rah, rah. Can you come, minister, please?
So it really rises me up and I, but I know that these two will come up here. And what I want from us all, if you are willing, unless you are 100% positioned in spirit, and then really you should be in heaven. So we've not arrived yet, have we? So I want, firstly, if you will, to stand for me and I want Satan. I want him to see this church stand in conviction that we are not going to be wavering anymore. We're not going to be standing or letting him do anything in this church that will ever take us out of position because of what's been done, because of what's been done for us. We are going to stand and we are going to stand strong and say, no more flesh, no more emotions, no more feelings of failure, no more condemnation. Is there condemnation in Christ?
Do we know that? Is there condemnation in Christ? There is no condemnation in Christ. So if any of you, and I want you to really, really be brave, if any of you had condemnation in your heart of any sort, unforgiveness, any shame, guilt, bitterness, anything, I want you to come to the front. I want you to come and stand here and I want you to say, no more. It's not happening anymore. I am not carrying this anymore. I am not hindering my prayers anymore.
And another thing I want is for anyone who has relatives who are living in mental illness, in emotional illness, in darkness in anything that does not belong to God. You get up here and you pray for them. Let's come to the altar and say, no more is it happening. It is not happening in my family and my community. It's not happening anymore.
And I'm going to end with prayer. And then I would really welcome you and Tina to do some ministry with some music. It would be wonderful to do that. Thank you. Come on up. Father God, you see these hearts and minds that have stepped up here today. You've seen them stand. You've seen the conviction in their lives. Father, fill them afresh. Fill them afresh with such conviction in their lives that the battle please God. God, this conviction that the victory has been won. The victory has been won. Father God, let us know that right now, more than we've ever known it before, that standing firm in the victory is a lot easier than fighting in this world. So Father God, I pray such courage and strength over everybody here. Father God and I rebuke any darkness of principalities over their lives right now. In the name of Jesus, let it be gone. You have no right and you do not belong. So go in the name of Jesus and Father God, as we listen to some worship as we go into ministry, Father, work your miracles. You are here, you are present and the power of healing as they position be done. In the name of Jesus. In the name of Jesus.
